Bustami was detained hours later at about 5am in Barstow, California. The motive remains unclear.

Bustami’s mother was discovered inside a house on June Flower Drive just after 2:30am Wednesday morning, suffering from ‘multiple deep lacerations.’

Las Vegas Metro Police Lieutenant Dave Valenta said police received a 9-11 call from a woman claiming her mother was dead.

‘At approximately 2:30 in the morning, a 911 dispatcher received a phone call from a frantic female stating that her mother was dead,’ Valenta said. ‘Then the line was disconnected.’

A neighbor, Andres Moreno, told Fox29 that the police were regularly at the home over domestic disputes between the pair.

Police said Bustami will be returned to Las Vegas and could be charged with open murder, meaning the degree of her charge has yet to be determined.

LVMPD said they received a report that Bustami walked out on a tab at the Chili’s restaurant inside the airport, and officers later found the woman ‘belligerent’ after stalling operations near a security checkpoint.

As the officers took her into custody, they said Bustami threatened to spit on them as she called them ‘perverts’ and claimed they were ‘trying to rape her because they never seen anyone as good-looking.’

She was due to appear in court today for charges related to the incident.

Bustami is a graduate of the University of Nevada-Las Vegas who earned a degree in Hospitality Administration and Management, according to her LinkedIn account.
