Prince William is unlikely to forgive his brother Prince Harry because his exit from life as a senior royal prematurely moved Kate Middleton and their young children into the spotlight, a royal expert said.
The relationship between the Duke of Sussex and Prince of Wales has been fraught with tension after Megxit, when Prince Harry and his wife Meghan Markle quit as working royals, made a number of sometimes spurious claims about the Firm and moved to a $14million mansion in California.
And now Vanity Fair’s Katie Nicholl has said the 40-year-old heir to the throne Prince William ‘can’t forgive Harry’ because Megxit ‘moved Kate Middleton and their young family onto world stage earlier than expected’.
Royal expert Nicholl told US Weekly: ‘It had a huge impact on him, on Catherine, on their young family.Â

‘It put them in that prime sort of centre. It moved them centre-stage far sooner than they would otherwise have been.’
She added:Â ‘A lot of it was how he chose to do that and what William saw as great disrespect to the institution and to his, to his family, to his grandmother.’Â
She added that Charles will want to heal the rift between the two brothers so the divide doesn’t hang over his reign.
While The Queen’s funeral provided an opportunity for the brothers to talk out their differences, Katie suggested any sign of a reconcilation was still some way off for the brothers.Â

Princess Catherine revealed earlier this month that she stills sees Prince Louis as her baby, even though she recognises he’s a ‘big boy now’.
The Princess made the sweet comment while speaking with new mothers at the Royal Surrey County Hospital in Guildford on October 5.
