Wendy Williams’ only child has been evicted from his luxury $2 million Miami apartment and hit with a lawsuit for $70,000 in back rent that she can no longer pay for him allegedly due to medical and legal reasons.

Her son Kevin, 22, was hit with the lawsuit regarding unpaid rent since February this year. It came after Wendy had some health issues which led to the court being put in charge of her finances after her Wells Fargo accounts were frozen in January.

According to the US Sun, the eviction suit was filed in August and has a copy of Kevin Jr’s lease, showing that Wendy had paid a security deposit, other fees and a full year of rent in advance- more than $100,000.

The lease started in March 2021 and ended in February this year- after it had passed, Kevin agreed to continue to rent the apartment on a monthly basis.

As it came to the end of the lease, Wendy had some health issues which led to the court being put in charge of her finances after her Wells Fargo accounts were frozen in January.

This was around the time that the overdue rent began to pile up. Wendy’s accounts had been frozen by Wells Fargo in January because there were concerns that she was ‘of unsound mind.’

Her bank also suspected ‘financial exploitation, dementia, or undue influence’ and she was placed in a financial guardianship.

Speaking to the court, her 22-year-old son explained in his filing that his mother had rented the apartment for him.

He explained that because of her health issues, all of the financial support he received from her stopped, including his housing.

The 22-year-old is currently a full-time student but had taken a year out of school because of COVID and looking after Wendy.

He had also told the court that the situation spiraled very quickly and unexpectedly and he did not know things would end up how they did.

Kevin added that he would be moving out of the apartment on September 7.

The star suffered a number of health issues including Graves’ disease, lymphedema and substance abuse and missed the entirety of her final season of The Wendy Williams Show.

It was announced earlier this summer by her production company Debmar-Mercury that her show was going to be officially canceled.

Her time slot was allocated to former guest host Sherri Shepherd. Although Wendy had previously said she was launching a podcast, it is unclear if any episodes have yet been filmed.

Sources alleged that Wendy spent two months in rehab in August in California being treated for severe alcoholism.

She had a number of public incidents involving alcohol abuse before she checked into rehab.

An insider had told the US Sun that she never wanted to stop drinking and the people around her in New York allowed her to keep going.

After Wendy was placed under financial guardianship, her ex husband Kevin Hunter Sr was also impacted.

He last week claimed that he could face foreclosure if his alimony payments did not resume.

His alimony payments had been agreed as part of their divorce and suddenly stopped in February 2022.

Her ex-husband asked that the court make an order for Wendy’s guardian to continue making the payments under the MSA and Severance Agreement.

Kevin told the court in his filing: ‘I currently live in a community that requires payments to the homeowners association and I’m behind on that bill.

‘If the homeowners association fees are not paid foreclosure will soon follow.’

But Wendy’s attorney had filed that the star had not had income from The Wendy Williams Show since October 2021 and pushed back on her ex’s demand for payment.

Her attorney wrote: ‘On October 15, 2021, the plaintiff was informed by Talk WW that her contract was being suspended and that no compensation shall accrue or be payable to plaintiff for the duration of plaintiff’s disability and incapacity.’

They continued that: ‘she presently has no other television show being aired and paying her any income, let alone an equivalent salary.’
