Viewers lash out at ABC’s Australia Day Live concert at the Sydney Opera House: ‘Have they sung a single song younger than 40 years ago yet?’

Viewers have criticised ABC’s Australia Day Live event at the Sydney Opera House on Thursday night.

The event featured performances from some of the country’s biggest stars including Casey Donovan, Dami Im and Christine Anu.

But many viewers weren’t impressed with the concert and flocked to social media to criticise the sound quality as well as the song choices.

However, some viewers enjoyed the show, with one writing: ‘So beautiful, I was so impressed by the quality of the show, the performers, the music, the water acts, the lighting, the co ordinated fireworks it had something for everyone. Casey Donavon was superb & Jeremy Fernandez was his usual immaculate self.’

It featured a fireworks and a light show as well as yachts, jet skis, fly boarders, and parachutists dropping in.

William Barton and Isaiah Firebrace joined Dami and Christine on stage at the event.
