Viewers call for Sunrise fill-in host Monique Wright to permanently replace Natalie Barr

Sunrise viewers have called for host Monique Wright to replace Natalie Barr after she has been filling in for the star over the festive period. 

Fans praised Wright this week after she shared her hilarious hack to keep kids entertained over Christmas.

The TV host, 49, appeared in a clip posted to Sunrise’s Instagram page, in which she wrapped herself up in a roll of Christmas wrapping paper.

Fans praised Wright this week after she shared her hilarious hack to keep kids entertained over Christmas 

‘Mon getting her kids’ presents ready for Christmas. Hope you have yours ready!’ the caption read. 

The clip showed  Monique placing the paper on the ground as if she was preparing to wraps gifts.

But instead of wrapping up presents, the mum-of-three leaped into the paper and wrapped herself up while Mariah Carey’s All I Want For Christmas Is You played.

Viewers loved the sweet clip.

‘Mon needs a tiktok page love it,’ commented another.

‘You’re a good sport Mon, love it!’ said another.

‘Mon – you are as always hilarious!!! Bet the kids would be thrilled with you as their main pressie!?!?!?’ joked one fan.

It comes after Monique was branded a ‘Grinch’ after revealing she ‘hates Christmas‘.

The mother-of-three, 49,  was speaking to David Koch on the Channel Seven show in November when the panel discussed Cliff Richard’s upcoming Christmas album, which she quickly branded ‘rubbish’.

When asked by a baffled Kochie if she felt anything towards the 81-year-old British crooner festive song, she quickly snapped back: ‘Yes I feel a lot. I hate Christmas’.

Her co-anchor quickly questioned how she can hate the festive period when she has ‘eight children in her house’, to which she replied: ‘I enjoy them enjoying it,  but it’s just work!’.

The Sunrise team seemed to find her reaction hilarious, tweeting out the clip edited with moments from the 2000 film How The Grinch Stole Christmas.
