Ulrika Johnsson has launched a scathing attack on Max George after he gave her the middle finger for criticising his girlfriend Maisie Smith.

Television presenter Ulrika, 55, slammed former EastEnders actress Maisie, 21, after she sparked split rumours from The Wanted singer Max after sharing a social media video of herself crying with the caption: ‘You didn’t deserve me’.

But it didn’t sit well with Swedish-British broadcaster and TV personality Ulrika Jonsson, 55, who gave her scathing opinion of the ‘nonsense’ post, calling actress Maisie ‘self-indulgent’ and ‘very dramatic’.

Ulrika’s response prompted Max to take to his Instagram page and give Ulrika the middle finger, and she has now hit back, slamming his comeback and his reported cheating on ex Stacey Giggs.

After insisting she still stands by her comments about Maisie, Ulrika wrote in The Sun: ‘You really are the gift that keeps on giving. It really was very sweet of you. You must know how much I loves me a middle finger.

‘And this was your response to the fact that last week I levelled a perfectly reasonable criticism at your girlfriend Maisie Smith.’

Referring to Max’s alleged cheating on his ex Stacey, Ulrika lashed out: ‘So, it’s nice to know I’ve been on your mind, Max. Despite the fact you already have a girlfriend.

‘Oh, hang on . . . that’s your style, isn’t it? Being with one woman and thinking about another.’

In August, Stacey accused her ex Max of cheating on her with his Strictly co-star Maisie.

In a conversation with one of her friends she detailed her heartbreak over the situation and explained how she feels ‘betrayed’ by the star.

The Sun reported that Stacey told a pal: ‘To see them dating publicly so quickly after I dumped him is like a dagger to the heart.

‘Max cheated on me with Maisie. I asked him about her but he denied anything had happened.

‘After everything I’ve done for him, I cannot believe he would be so rude and disrespectful. He’s a lying dog. I feel betrayed.’

Ulrika criticised Maisie’s social media post after she posted a video of herself crying, which she says would have worried her friends and family.

Writing for The Sun, Ulrika said: ‘WHAT is the self-indulgent nonsense that possesses people to film themselves crying on social media?

‘Surely, sadness, mourning, personal trauma or grieving is something private – not something you milk?

‘To do what Maisie did, which was to accompany her tears with a cryptic message and dramatic music which had everyone tearing their hair out with concern for her, fraught with anxiety – and then in a subsequent post to be pictured snogging the face off her boyfriend as if nothing had happened at all, is insulting.’

And in response to Ulrika’s scathing words, Max came to the defence of his girlfriend with a very direct Instagram post.

Sharing to his 360,000 followers on his Stories, Max wrote ‘Just for you Ulrika’ alongside a snap of him stood in a lift with his middle finger up to the camera.

Since their relationship went public this summer, Max and Maisie have been very public in their displays of affection for one another.

This made her post while away on holiday with her beau all the more concerning for fans.

The Strictly Come Dancing star uploaded the short compilation video backed to the song Evergreen (You Didn’t Deserve Me At All) by Omar Apollo.

In the clip, Maisie had a single tear rolling down her cheek, before she wiped her eyes and cuddled her dog for comfort.

The final moment of the TikTok showed a red-eye Maisie glancing away from the camera lens.

While the video has the on-screen caption: ‘You didn’t deserve me,’ Maisie is then shown to be mouthing the words ‘at all.’

She captioned the video: ‘Nothing but happiness these days.’

Her post sparked a flurry of comments from Maisie’s fans expressing her concern, with one writing: ‘Hope you’re doing better! You are amazing and so inspirational.’

Last week, they first sparked engagement rumours last week when she was spotted sporting a ring on her wedding finger during a romantic trip away.

Upon closer inspection Maisie’s ring did appear to be a piece of costume jewellery rather than a diamond engagement ring.
