Two NYPD officers are stabbed during New Year’s Eve celebrations at Times Square

Two NYPD officers have been attacked – with one stabbed in the head – during New Year’s Eve celebrations near Times Square.

Witnesses have reported hearing gunshots and seeing dozens of cops rushing to the bloody scene around 9:30 pm on New Year’s Eve, blocks away from where thousands are gathered to ring in 2023. 

The suspect is believed to have been shot by police. 

Early reports suggest that one cop was stabbed and the other was attacked with a pipe. All three have been rushed to Bellevue Hospital, their conditions are unknown. 

Video from the scene shows revelers being hurried from the scene by cops attempting to control the scene, located at 52nd street and 8th avenue. 

Officers can be seen screaming at pedestrians to move away from the crime scene.
