Donald Trump attempted to convince Ivanka and Jared Kushner to appear with him on stage on Tuesday for the launch of his campaign for the 2024 presidency, according to sources.

Trump plans to announce his run at the Palm Beach resort in Florida, sources told The New York Post.

The former president was overheard chatting with his daughter and Kushner at his daughter Tiffany’s wedding over the weekend in Mar-a-Lago – but it’s unclear if the couple will accept Trump’s offer.

Ivanka and her husband are said to be ‘done’ with Washington DC, and have no intention of returning to the White House if Trump runs again and wins.

‘Trump thought he could convince Ivanka this weekend to come back and campaign for him as she was the most requested speaker after the president himself last time around… but so far she’s resisting his entreaties and holding firm, as is Jared,’ the source said.

‘They both feel they got burned in Washington and don’t want to go back and expose themselves and their children to another bitter campaign.’

Trump Jr and fiancée Kimberly Guilfoyle along with Eric and Lara Trump, on the other hand, remain extremely active on the campaign scene and are believed to be encouraging Trump to go for a second term.

The former president hasn’t officially announced his run, but Lara Trump, who is a Fox News Contributor, warned Florida Ron DeSantis to not run against her father-in-law in the 2024 election.

‘I think he’s a smart enough guy to know that it would be great to have all of the support of all of this party, of the “America First,” MAGA movement, whatever you want to call it, fully behind him in 2028, then possibly fracturing it in 2024,’ Trump said on Sky News Australia. ‘I can tell you those primaries get very messy and very raw.’

Lara was asked about a potential DeSantis-Trump match-up as the former president looks poised to announce a 2024 bid Tuesday from his Mar-a-Lago resort, while other Republicans and their media allies are pointing to DeSantis as the future leader of the GOP.

DeSantis hasn’t indicated if he plans to throw his hat into the 2024 ring. The Florida governor recently beat Democrat Charlie Crist by 19 points in last week’s election, easily earning himself a second term, while other Republican candidates struggled.

Meanwhile, Lara guessed that DeSantis is ‘probably waiting to see what [her] father-in-law does.’

‘I think that Ron DeSantis is very smart. He’s a young guy. There will be a lot of opportunity for him in the future, and he knows this, to run for president,’ she said.

‘So wouldn’t it be nicer for him – and I think he knows this – to wait until 2028?’ she argued.

Meanwhile, it is uncertain why Ivanka and Jared didn’t immediately accept the invitation to appear onstage on Tuesday.

Ivanka and Jared have been recently spotted in Florida after leaving Washington in January 2021.

Before the couple lived in Washington, they had their own $4.1 million New York apartment at Trump’s Park Avenue building.

While the couple could’ve returned their Manhattan hot spot, Ivanka’s best friend previously said the duo’s return could be socially ‘difficult’ due to their ties with the former president.

The couple purchased a $24 million dollar fixer-upper in Miami last year and have been temporarily renting a condo as they wait for their dream home to be completed on Indian Creek.

Their lavish waterfront mansion that is being built on an exclusive island that is known as the ‘Billionaire Bunker’ is a high security community with roughly 40 lots and 30 residences.
