Today show host Allison Langdon delivered her brutal verdict on Meghan Markle’s latest interview with Variety magazine on Thursday.

Discussing the Duchess of Sussex’s latest PR offensive with The Daily Mirror’s royal editor Russell Myers, Langdon couldn’t help but scoff after hearing how Meghan had spoken of how she would want to be portrayed in a film or TV show about her life.

Myers explained: ‘Not only does she mention the fact that she was in Suits no less than five times during the interview, she also says she would be willing to lend her expertise to one specific actor, and that would with be the person who would potentially play her in a movie.’

Langdon interjected: ‘Hang on, so she is saying, “When someone will play me, I will counsel them as to who I am and how to portray [me].”

‘I mean come on! She makes it hard for herself!’

However, it seems Meghan’s statements were slightly overblown.

The former Deal or No Deal star, 41, actually said she hopes whoever plays her in a movie or television series about her life will ‘find the softness and the playfulness and the laughter’ as well as the ‘silliness’ of her personality.

I just hope she finds the dimensions,’ Meghan said of the imaginary actor, before suggesting she give her a phone call to discuss how her likeness will be portrayed.

Langdon’s co-host Karl Stefanovic meanwhile took a dig at Meghan’s lavish cover shoot, comparing the photos to a ‘dodgy bikie tattoo’.

‘It looks like it is on someone’s bicep… someone’s mum tattooed on their shoulder,’ Stefanovic mused.

‘I can’t say I saw it, but now that you have said it…’ Langdon replied.

It comes weeks after Stefanovic and Langdon called out Meghan for using a soundbite of Langdon speaking in 2018 during an episode of her Archetypes podcast.

In the context of the podcast, the American former actress used Langdon’s quote as evidence of sexism in the media, accusing outlets of saying she was lucky Prince Harry had ‘chosen her’ to be his wife when they became engaged in 2017.

Langdon’s actual quote, from an episode of 60 Minutes Australia, was: ‘The happy couple has enchanted the world with their real-life fairytale.’

Speaking on the Today show on September 7, the journalist insisted she had never once suggested Meghan was ‘lucky’ to have bagged herself a prince.

‘[I’m blowing] steam out my ears! What part of that was saying, “Harry [chose you]… oh, my gosh,”‘ she scoffed.

Stefanovic was also furious, saying that the latest episode of Archetypes ‘makes my head explode’.

‘Whatever side of the fence Ally is on in this story, she gets smashed by Meghan,’ he added, rolling his eyes.

‘You tell me, in anything I just said… was me saying she was lucky because of Prince [Harry]!’ Langdon exclaimed.

‘All I know is I had a lot of mates who liked Meghan for a long time, and none of them do anymore,’ she added.
