Undefeated Australian boxer Tim Tszyu will undertake the hardest challenge of his career on Sunday when he takes on former champion Tony Harrison for the interim WBO super welterweight title.
Tszyu, the son of Hall of Famer Kostya Tszyu, will attempt to emulate his father in becoming world champion with a victory over his battle-tested American opponent.
Harrison, who learned his trade in Detroitās famed Kronk Gym, is the only boxer to hold a win over undisputed champion Jermell Charlo and he believes he will have too much class for the Aussie.
Tszyu was scheduled to fight Charlo in January for the American’s IBF, WBC, WBA and WBO super-welterweight belts – but the fight was cancelled when Charlo injured his hand.
The 28-year-old Sydneysider suffered an early scare in his last bout withĀ Terrell Gausha, and most pundits believe that the fight with Harrison will be another step up in quality from that.
