TikTok influencer Polska Babinks has slammed a Paris restaurant owner for allegedly refusing her entry because of her ample cleavage
After being turned away from the Paris eatery the first time, the influencer went back to film the man’s reaction
The influencer accompanied the clip with the message: ‘A neckline = No restaurants.’
She has since posted two updates on the row, which have been viewed 460,000 and 223,000 times respectively.
Polska said that she went to the restaurant with a friend but were stopped at the door by the owner because he allegedly felt they were dressed inappropriately.
After being turned away the first time, the influencer went back to film the man’s reaction.
TV host Benjamin Castaldi, columnist Danielle Moreau, and producer Guillaume Genton all said they sympathised with the restaurant owner
In the footage, the restaurant owner claims that both women are not ‘dressed properly’.
Polska, who regularly posts videos of her wearing low-cut dresses for her army of fans, explained: ‘My friend Tootatis and I were prevented from entering this restaurant because of our cleavage.’
The incident sparked debate in France with several public figures wading into the row.
TV host Benjamin Castaldi, columnist Danielle Moreau, and producer Guillaume Genton all said they sympathised with the restaurant owner, stating that he had every right to refuse entry.
Castaldi wrote: ‘Where’s the scandal? He doesn’t want bare b**bs in his restaurant.’
Moreau said: ‘This is not a feminist struggle! Very few women see themselves in you.’
Genton said he has rarely seen ‘human beings as stupid’ as the influencer and her pal.
Polska’s army of followers also had a lot to say about the incident, with one user commenting: ‘For me, it makes sense. You need a minimum of respect for the people and the restaurant.’
‘The fact that this restaurant went from 3 stars to 4.5 on Google is thanks to you!’ said someone else.
Another user wrote: ‘Well it’s like walking into stores in a swimsuit in the summer, it’s forbidden. Correct outfit required. Girl, go to macdo (McDonald’s), their ethics is come as you are.’
‘Any restaurateur has the right to say or not whether the customer’s dress is correct or not and is entitled to refuse entry.’
‘This is considered a refusal to sell and is prohibited by law,’ commented another user.
