‘Throuple’ cop accuses police force of bullying after it emerged he was in a three-way love triangle with his wife and their pole-dancing boxer girlfriend
- David Kowal is taking the NSW Police Force to court alleging harassment
- He was medically discharged following a ‘meltdown’ after his duties changed
- He says he was given new work after it emerged he was in a ‘throuple’
A former Australian cop is suing the police force accusing it of causing him to have a ‘meltdown’ after his ‘throuple’ with his wife and their pole-dancing lover was outed.
David Kowal, 38, is taking legal action against NSW Police, alleging discrimination, bullying and emotional distress over his polygamous relationship.
He married chiropractor Loren Kowal in February 2017 before the couple became a ‘throuple’ with the romantic addition of pole-dancing boxer Alana Dean in 2019.

While the Kowals remain married, Dean is said to be girlfriend to them both.
But when NSW Police found out Mr Kowal was in a relationship with two women everything at work changed, he claims.
He says he was taken off the cases he’d been working on – which he claimed were sex-related crimes on public transport – with no explanation.
He also alleged he was subjected to ‘a fair amount of harassment’ in the NSW police force, reports The Oz.
Mr Kowal admitted to then having ‘a meltdown’ at work and wasn’t able to go back.
He was eventually medically discharged.
Ms Kowal claimed her husband was so traumatised by the issues with his employer he is unable to have sex and is currently not able to have children.
She said the ‘harassment’ he faced at work reduced his ability ‘do regular everyday’ activities, including sex.
‘The terrible timing of all David’s mental health stuff put a massive strain on this sexual part of our relationship,’ she said.
Ms Kowal said unfortunately her husband is unable to have sex after the harassment he’s faced. ‘I wouldn’t be here today’ without Loren and Alana, he said (Pictured, Loren and David Kowal)
Mr Kowal claimed ‘I wouldn’t be here today’ if its wasn’t for the two women in his life.
‘It’s been quite a struggle to get about and be normal,’ he said.
Mr Kowal’s case will be heard in the District Court from February 4.
He will be represented by Firth’s The Compensation Lawyers. NSW Police declined to comment.
