The last eight episodes of the 11th and final season of The Walking Dead premiered this past week on AMC.

As part of the last promotional push for the post-apocalyptic horror series, some of the stars, and one of the creative minds behind-the-scenes, attended the 2022 PaleyFest NY at Paley Museum in New York City on Saturday.

Norman Reedus, who has played fan favorite Daryl Dixon since season one in 2010, was on hand greeting fans before going inside the venue for a special screening selected for the event, which also included a conversation and Q-and-A.

Reedus, who has the distinction of being one of the two of characters from the original group of Atlanta survivors to still be on the show, arrived wearing a black suit over a gray vest and black t-shirt.

He also wore a pair of black leather shoes, and had his dark brown tresses styled in his trademark slightly messy look, which his character has also been known for.

With fans screaming out his name, he flashed a thumbs up their way, and then took a few moments to chat with them, all while they snapped photos of videos of him.

Initially, while outside the venue, Reedus sported cool dark sunglasses, but he would take them off by the time he made his way to the red carpet for a round of photos.

At first, he struck a number of poses by himself, but as his fellow castmates began trickling in to the event they made their way to the red carpet for some group shots.

Co-stars Lauren Cohan (Maggie Greene), Jeffrey Dean Morgan (Negan), Lauren Ridloff (Connie), Paola Lázaro (Juanita ‘Princess’ Sanchez), Michael James Shaw (Michael Mercer), and Eleanor Matsuura (Yumiko) were all on hand, as was Scott M. Gimple, who has served as writer, producer, and showrunner on the show.

The group looked more like old friends as they talked and laughed in between hamming it up for the photographers lined up along the red carpet.

The stars would eventually make their way into the Paley Museum for the screening, conversation and Q-and-A with journalists and fans.

Always one to show off his sense of humor, and grab a prop or two from the set, Reedus took to his Instagram page the previous day and posted a photo of a severed head on a kitchen counter top.

‘Good morning,’ the actor, 53, joked in the caption of the picture that shows it at a side angle.

Ardant fans of the show know that the head was molded and crafted after actor and musician Johnny Depp, which was confirmed by TWD’s prosthetic makeup artist Greg Nicotero in an interview with Comicbook.com

The gruesome prop made its cameo appearance during episode 12 of season 6, titled Not Tomorrow Yet.

The 11th and final season, which was split into three eight-episode blocks, premiered back in August 2021 and went through into October.

The show then had a brief hiatus, and eventually returned for the second part this past February that lasted into April.

There was a six-month hiatus until this third and final block of eight-episodes began airing on October 2.

Along with Reedus, Melissa McBride (Carol Peletier) is the only other actor to have survived all 11 seasons of The Walking Dead.

The two OGs had been slated to star in a new spin-off series together, but McBride has since decided to step down, and now the spin-off will just focus on Reedus’ character, which he revealed this week will be simply titled, Daryl Dixon.
