The rapper who HATES Australia: Azealia Banks called Aussies ‘violent’ in the past

Azealia Banks has a long history of lashing out at Australia, prior to her latest outburst calling the country ‘racist’ and saying it makes her ‘miserable.’

The New York native, best known for her 2012 megahit ‘212’, refused to play Brisbane on Tuesday night, cancelling her set.

The cancellation follows an outburst in 2015, where she made equally aggressive comments about Australia, calling Aussies ‘violent’ and ‘belligerent’.

‘I’m so sorry you guys – actually I’m not sorry – but listen: last time I was in Brisbane and y’all threw s*** on the stage and damn near almost f***ing hit me in the face with a f***ing bottle of soda or whatever that s*** was,’ Banks said this week.

‘That was the most racist, most demoralising experience of my f***ing life and right now I’m on a really good track.

‘I am too far away from home… I am a beautiful black woman and I am not going to get in front of some audience of white people for them to be throwing s*** at me. I am so not sorry. I am not sorry at all.’

The incident this week brings to an end a disastrous tour, after planned gigs in Melbourne and Sydney were postponed due to ‘visa issues’.

Back In 2015, outspoken Azealia took aim at Australian crowds while playing festival,  Splendour in the Grass.

Clearly unimpressed by the crowd’s behaviour throughout her hour-long set, she hit out at festivalgoers slamming them as ‘violent and belligerent’.

‘…In all actuality. You guys are terrible crowds to play for,’ Banks vented on Twitter at the time.

‘You’re violent and belligerent and I simply will not put my safety at risk. I would’ve walked off stage had someone thrown something.’

It follows an incident at the festival, where she left the stage after a measly 25 minutes citing ‘technical difficulties’ for her premature departure.

'I¿m so sorry you guys ¿ actually I¿m not sorry ¿ but listen: last time I was in Brisbane and y¿all threw s*** on the stage and damn near almost f***ing hit me in the face with a f***ing bottle of soda or whatever that s*** was,' Banks (pictured) said this week

Radio presenter Paul ‘Browny’ Brown took aim: ‘Hey everyone let’s say Congratulations to @AZEALIABANKS for completing her First Ever Full Australian Concert at @SITG [Splendour In The Grass]. Spewin I missed it,’ Brown joked.

Despite trying to walk back his comments, he added: ‘Truth be told we’re all not bottle throwing wankers, there’s always one idiot ruining it for the rest of us.’

Banks, however, remained steadfast in her views.

‘…Plus you guys are too far away and honestly, the show guarantees are never really worth the trip,’ she wrote, noting at the end, ‘…but I love my fans and will do anything to make them happy.’

Banks also has a history of hitting out at Australian rapper Iggy Azalea.

In December 2014, she took aim at her for not caring about ‘black issues’ despite owing her success to black culture.

Azalea, who has since handed over management of her Twitter page to staff, said in a heated response: ‘Special msg for banks: There are many black artists succeeding in all genres. The reason you haven’t is because of your p**s poor attitude.

‘Your inability to be responsible for your own mistakes, bullying others, the inability to be humble or have self control. It’s YOU!

‘You created your own unfortunate situation by being a bigot and don’t have the mental capacity to realize yet. Probably never will.’

Banks had also slammed the Fancy singer after her Grammy nomination during a radio interview where she said: ‘The Grammys are supposed to be awards for artistic excellence. Iggy Azalea’s not excellent.’
