The Block houses all have the identical reserve price for just the second time in the show’s history – leaving viewers scratching their heads

Each house on The Block has the exact same reserve price as they head into auction.

Despite being slightly different sizes and having varied features, each home comes in at a $4.08 million reserve.

Channel Nine confirmed to Daily Mail Australia that the reserves are due to houses being ‘all similar homes so they’re valued the same’.

It is only the second time that the reserves were all identical – the last time was in 2019 when each house came in at $2,990,000.

Viewers watching at home were confused by the move, with some questioning why the prices were identical.

In particular it struck viewers that Sharon and Ankur, who have the biggest property, were at the same reserve as the others.

‘So Sharon and Ankur have the biggest house, biggest budget blow out and the most to do to finish off their house and their reserve is the same as the others…. yeah okay,’ wrote one person on Twitter.

‘Same reserve for five houses that are different shaped and sized houses?’ another asked.

‘So why doesn’t the biggest house on the block have a higher reserve?’ one more person questioned.

Others pointed out that the contestants were not happy with the reserves either.

‘Aren’t every single couple unhappy with their reserve every single year?’ someone wrote.

‘The reserve prices were always gonna be above 4 million so they shouldn’t act so surprised,’ another said.
