Channel 10’s revamped The Bachelors premiered on Monday night, and the new drama-filled season certainly didn’t disappoint.

Melbourne-based rocker Jed McIntosh suffered a brutal rejection just minutes into the episode when he was shot down by stunning blonde psychology student, Caitlin Perry. 

The 25-year-old received a ‘bash to the ego’ after inviting her into the Bachelor mansion and handing her a rose, which she rejected.

‘I would love it if you would accept this rose,’ Jed told her. ‘I reckon you’re perfect.’ 

But things didn’t go to plan and he was let down in no uncertain terms. 

‘Unfortunately, I am not going to accept this rose,’ Caitlin, 25, told him.

Jed was left in a state of shock, saying in a piece to camera the rejection is like a ‘kick in the guts’. 

‘I wish the best for you and I hope that you meet someone,’ she told the drummer.

‘I’d love to stay friends and stay in contact.’ 

Looking shocked by the snub, Jed replied: ‘Yep good. Well it was lovely meeting you. Cheers.’

As he walked off she was heard saying, ‘please don’t hate me’.

McIntosh told the camera: ‘What a bash to the ego. It was brutal. Absolutely brutal.

‘I just thought I was the one making those decisions, but apparently not. Onto the next one I guess.’ 

As he proceeded to head off-screen he’s was heard murmuring, ‘F**k me’. 

As he walked off Caitlin was heard saying, 'please don't hate me'. McIntosh then told the camera: 'What a bash to the ego. It was brutal. Absolutely brutal'

McIntosh is vying for the heart of one of 30 women along with pro basketballer Felix Von Hofe and life coach and restaurant manager Thomas Malucelli. 

Season 10 begins with leads Felix, Jed and Thomas going on a blind date with each of their participants before inviting them to live in the Bachelor mansion with a rose. 

Contestants then can say ‘yes’ or ‘no’ to accepting the bachelor’s rose.

The Bachelors continues Tuesday at 7.30pm on Channel 10
