Twist in gamer’s death in a hotel stairwell where his body was left for three days as two mystery men are seen posing for a security camera

CCTV of two men has been released as part of investigations into the suspicious death of a Chinese national found in a hotel stairwell near a gaming cafe.

Emergency services were called to Meriton Suites on Kent Street in Sydney‘s CBD on December 7 last week over concerns for a man’s welfare. 

A cleaner found the body of Chinese national, Tao Cheng, 25, in a hidden fire escape near the FBI Cyber Cafe.

A crime scene was established as detectives commenced an investigation into Mr Cheng’s death, which is believed to be suspicious.

Investigators believe Mr Cheng entered the stairwell three days earlier around 9pm Sunday.

CCTV has been released of two men who may be able to assist with police inquiries.

Nine News reported last week two men were seen in the gaming cafe and followed Mr Chen into a hallway before leaving the hotel a short time later.

Anyone with information is urged to call Crime Stoppers.
