The Sussexes have many streams of revenue, from podcasts to tell-all books.

Yet it seems Meghan Markle is soon to make more money – bringing back her wellness and lifestyle blog, the Tig.

According to the Mirror, the Duchess, 41, has official preliminary approval to revive the lifestyle website.

She launched the ‘passion project’ in 2014, but shut it down after getting engaged to Prince Harry in 2017.

Boasting tips on fashion, health and wellness, it is thought the website could rival Gwyneth Paltrow’s Goop website, which is reportedly worth £200million.

Perhaps somewhat ironically, given the difficulties with her own family and her in-laws, it is thought the mother-of-two could also become an agony aunt on it.

Details from the US Trademark and Patent Office, show she may dole out ‘commentary in the field of personal relationships’.

Set to go live as soon as next week, the website could become the latest money-making venture for the Duke and Duchess after they were cut off from royal funds.

Insiders say Meghan hopes to rival Gwyneth’s mega-successful site, which plys a lucrative trade in New Age wellness luxuries, such as vagina-scented candles.

Meghan founded The Tig, named after her favourite red wine, in 2014 while starring in legal drama Suits.

It featured tips on food, wellness, fashion, travel, fashion, the arts, design, and conscious living.

And, in the the Sussexes’ recent Netflix series, Meghan gushed about the website, saying: ‘It wasn’t just a hobby, it became a really successful business’.

She said: ‘I’ve never really been the type of person to do only one thing, I guess that’s how my website was born.

‘There was fashion, tons of food, and travel – all the things that I loved. The Tig wasn’t just a hobby, it became a really successful business.’

Branding it her ‘passion project’, she used it as her personal blog for three years until her engagement to Prince Harry, when it was deactivated due to ‘intense media scrutiny’.

Meghan launched the website while she was starring in the USA drama Suits.

She named it after her favourite type of wine, Tignanello.

‘It was an ah-ha moment at its finest,’ she wrote on the blog of trying the wine for the first time. ‘For me it became a “Tig” moment – a moment of getting it.’

Meghan’s longtime friend, Suits director and producer Silver Tree, explained in the docuseries: ‘When she first was describing [the blog] to me, she was like, “It’s like your best friend telling you all the fun things you wish you knew about in one place.”‘

The mother-of-two used the website to share her views on everything from feminism to her passion for philanthropy.

An avid foodie, she also shared recipes – as well as makeup and beauty tips, travel advice, and interviews with her celebrity friends, including tennis star Serena Williams and actress Priyanka Chopra.

When closing the blog down in 2017, she reflected on how it ‘evolved into an amazing community of inspiration, support, fun and frivolity.’

She also encouraged her readers not to ‘forget their worth’ and to ‘keep finding those Tig moments of discovery.’

According to royal biographers Omid Scobie and Carolyn Durand, she decided to end The Tig due to the ‘intense media scrutiny’ she was facing amid her relationship with Harry.

‘It wasn’t so much that her blog was criticized as it was used to fuel false speculation about her personal life with the prince,’ they wrote in their book, Finding Freedom: Harry and Meghan and the Making of a Modern Royal Family, per Cheat Sheet.

‘If she and Harry weren’t seen in three days, someone at a gossip blog would pull up her recipe for acai bowls and write a story that said that was what she was serving her new man.’

For Father’s Day in June 2014, Meghan dedicated a post to her retired Hollywood lighting director father Thomas Markle, 78.

She called him ‘thoughtful, inspiring, hardworking’ and praised him for the ‘blood, sweat and tears this man (who came from so little in a small town of Pennsylvania, where Christmas stockings were filled with oranges, and dinners were potatoes and spam) invested in my future so that I could grow up to have so much.’

The Duchess recalled her father ‘religiously’ taking her to her dance classes every Saturday morning – despite working 75+ hours a week.

She also noted his determination to light her high school musicals, as well as the fishing trips the duo would enjoy and the lessons he taught her – including writing thank you notes and to always be early to occasions.

Meghan – who is known to be close to her mother Doria – also shared the life lessons her mother taught her in a resurfaced blog post from The Tig in May 2014.

The Duchess explained how she finally understood all the moments her parent, 66, who she said was a ‘free spirit’, was trying to keep her safe, or to appreciate the outdoors or learn history.

She mentioned them jogging together, enjoying bike rides after school, cooking with one another and holidaying to Oaxaca, Mexico – and recalled visiting her grandmothers with her mother.

Meghan wrote: ‘She was keeping me safe. She was teaching me to take care of my body. She was introducing me to history, and fostering a love of being outdoors.

‘She was planting the seed for me to become a foodie. She was showing me how to be a daughter, not just in that moment, but for when I became that grown woman. For right now. And thirty years from now. She was loving me. So tightly.

‘To all of the wonderful mamas in this world, thank you. For all the lessons, for all the love. For you. I love you, Mommy.’
