Takeoff dead: Khloe Kardashian leads tributes after Migos rapper is shot aged 28

Tributes have come flooding in for Takeoff after the Migos rapper was shot dead ‘over a game of dice’ in front of his uncle and bandmate Quavo outside of a bowling alley in Texas on Tuesday.

The 28-year-old, who is a member of the hip hop trio, was shot at a ‘private party’ as a group gathered outside of the 810 Billiards & Bowling Houston at 2.30am.

Houston Police confirmed that one person was found dead at the scene at 1200 Polk, but would not confirm the identity of the deceased.

But images from the scene reportedly show the rapper lying dead in a puddle of blood after being ‘shot in the head’ during the row.

The shooting came hours after he posted an Instagram story of him wearing the same outfit.

As news of the shooting spread, friends and admirers of Takeoff, real name Kirshnik Khari Ball, took to Twitter to pay tribute.

Khloe Kardashian tweeted out: ‘This is so sad. Wow! over what?? May God cover everyone who is in pain. These senseless acts have got to end. So so sad’.

Jamie Foxx shared an image of Takeoff with the caption, ‘Rest in power’

Drake said, ‘I got the best memories of all of us seeing the world together and bringing light to every city we touch. That’s what I’ll focus on for now … rest easy space man. Take [flight].’ 

British rapper AJ Tracey paid tribute, writing: ‘not takeoff! RIP’. 

Singer and actress Keri Hilson wrote: ‘Rest In Peace, @1YoungTakeoff. Healing love to your brothers, family, & friends. #gonetoosoon’.

Rapper Ugly God wrote: ‘do y’all not realize these n***** changed the whole cadence of rap when they came out? rip Takeoff. this man has been staying out the way, keeping it minimal, and minding his own buisiness since the beginning. If that’s not enough to be left alone, then idk.’

Reality star Claudia Johnson tweeted: ‘Sad & senseless. He was a bystander & got shot. We gotta do something about everyone & they momma in Texas having guns! Especially reckless folk who can’t simply disagree with people-they have to resort to this! My deepest condolences to the whole family of Takeoff. Gone at 28.’

YouTuber and Twitch streamer Adin Ross wrote: ‘Rest in peace to takeoff I just spoke to him too … I’m in shock right now, I can’t believe it. I pray to god it’s fake. This s*** just isn’t fair bro wtf’.

Yung Miami of City Girls, tweeted her shock, writing: ‘Damn takeoff’ with a string of broken hearts.

US rapper Almighty Jay commented on Takeoff’s Instagram: ‘Bro you was so laid back gang you didn’t deserve none of that bro. I just talked to you bro. That s*** hurt.’

Radio host Darvio Morrow said: ‘When I was a kid, Tupac and Biggie getting shot was a big deal. You didn’t see major stars like that getting shot and killed. Now it’s happening like every other month. I’ve never seen so many major artists get killed like this. And over a dice game?!? Senseless. RIP Takeoff.’

Author Frederick Joseph wrote: ‘I want to see more Black men with grey hair. Growing older and wiser. I’m heartbroken at the continuous need for us to post “Rest In Peace” because violence has taken another one of us. But here we are, sleep well, Takeoff.’

US Representative Jamaal Bowman said: ‘Sending love to Takeoff’s loved ones. I’m tired of seeing young Black men die.’

And rapper Desiigner broke down in tears and vowed to quit music in a heartbreaking Instagram video.

Crying as he filmed, Desiigner, 25, said: ‘I can’t call Qua, I can’t call Offset, [fellow Migos members Quavo and Offset] I can’t call none of them…yo bro, I’m done.

‘I’m done, I’m done, I can’t live like this no more.’

He later posted an Instagram Story, which read: ‘I’m done rap.’

Officers confirmed that there were 40 to 50 people at the location, when they discovered a man with a gunshot wound to the head or neck.  

Two other victims were also rushed to hospital in a private vehicle, and it is unclear what their conditions are.

Horrifying footage from the scene show Takeoff lying on the floor, while Quavo rushes to his side.

A group started to gather around the injured rapper and tried to move him, but quickly lowered him to the ground as Quavo screamed for help.

Video of the incident shows several women shouting to ‘get inside’, while another man can be heard saying ‘I’m scared for you bro’.   

Migos was founded by Takeoff in 2008 with his uncle Quavo and cousin Offset – who is married to Cardi B. 

Offset, who was not in Houston with his father and cousin, was celebrating Halloween with Cardi B and their children. 

Four hours before the shooting, Takeoff posted a picture of himself smoking at the bowling alley.

Quavo had also posted an Instagram story of himself driving around Houston with Jas Prince, who was celebrating his birthday. 

Earlier this month, Takeoff and Quavo joined forces in their debut as a duo with their album ‘Only Built for Infinity Links.

While there have been whisperings of the Atlanta rap trio Migos splitting up for good, there has been no official announcement of their disbandment. obvs i 

Instead, Takeoff and Quavo released ‘Only Built for Infinity Links,’ without third member Offset.

While all three artists have previously released albums as solo artists during their time together, some fans are convinced that there is friction among the hitmakers.

The group’s 2018 Migos album Culture II debuted at number one on the US Billboard 200 albums chart.

This marked their second US number-one album following Culture, which featured their smash hit Bad And Boujee.

The family connection is strong within Migos, as Quavo and Offset are cousins, while Takeoff is Quavo’s nephew.

The group released their first mixtape, Juug season, in 2011, and a second one called No Label in 2012.

In 2013, Migos had their first hit, Versace. While the single peaked at number 99 on the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart, it gained a new lease on life when Drake remixed the song and added a verse of his own, even going so far as performing it at the iHeartRadio Music Festival that year.

In June of that year, Migos released their Y.R.N mixtape, which featured Versace. The following year, the group released a sequel to their No Label mixtape called No Label II.

The mixtape was a huge hit and has been downloaded nearly one million times and certified double platinum by DatPiff.

The group, which has earned two Grammy nominations, released its first album, Yung Rich Nation in June 2015, which peaked at Number 3 on Billboard’s Top Rap Albums chart.
