BREAKING NEWS: Boxer Kell Brook apologises and vows he will ‘seek help’ after video showed him snorting white powder at his Sheffield home, saying he ‘holds his hands up’ after manager initially claimed ‘it was a joke’

  • Video footage released last week showed Kell Brook snorting white powder
  • He used a roll-up to inhale the powder at his family home in Sheffield
  • Brook has now posted a message on social media apologising for his actions
  • Kell Brook has taken to social media to apologise for a video which showed him snorting white powder at his Sheffield home.

In footage shared by The Sun, the former world champion is filmed using a roll-up to inhale the powder on a glass table at what is believed to be his family home in Sheffield.

After rising from the powder, which is spread over the table, he tells the camera ‘nice’ before shadow boxing on film.

On Friday, his manager Terry Thompson, insisted that the video was a joke.

Brook, who retired after his victory over long-time rival Amir Khan nearly a year ago, has apologised for the video and revealed he’s ‘seeking help to get on the right path’.

The retired boxer wrote: ‘I messed up, I hold my hands up & want to apologise to my family gym friends & fans.

‘It’s no secret that I struggle with mental health & I’m finding retirement really hard. I’m actively seeking the help I need to get me on the right path. Again I apologise for the hurt I’ve caused.’

The act seemingly took place in front of a framed portrait of the 36-year-old winning his third world title belt in 2014.

It is believed his wife Lindsey and the couple’s three children were away while ‘Special K’ – according to the Sun – ‘had a bit of a gathering’.

Brook was accused of taking cocaine in the past by rival Amir Khan, who wrote the claim on Twitter in 2012.

Despite retiring after his fight with Khan, he recently suggested he could get back into the ring.

Sky Sports last month reported that Brook wanted to face Liam Smith after his victory over Chris Eubank Jr.

Brooks’ manager Thompson after the video went viral said: ‘This is a thing that has sort of got out of hand.

‘They were at his house, they were having a laugh. They were joking about things. He said to them, “Film me having a laugh”.’

Thompson also went onto deny that the white powder was cocaine.
