Jamie Laing was left red-faced on Friday after failing his car theory test for the third time.

The former Made In Chelsea star, 34, took to Instagram to share a picture of a letter from the Driver & Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA) which told him he’d scored 41 out of 50 on the multiple choice part of the test, when the pass mark was 43.

Television personality Jamie captioned his post: ‘Why is the DVSA playing so hard to get? Actually embarrassing now!’

Jamie also scored 44 out of 75 on the hazard perception part of the test, with the pass mark being 44, but he needed to pass both sections to pass overall.

While the confectionary company founder took his test in the UK, he shared some information relevant to the law in Switzerland on Instagram as a joke.

The message read: ‘According to Swiss law, if you fail the practical driver’s license test three times, you are required to consult an official psychologist to assess the reasons for your previous failures before you are allowed to retake the exam!

‘Once the psychologist reports that you are once again ready to take the exam, you can retry.’

Jamie – whose fiancée Sophie Habboo recently shut down speculation she was pregnant – added on his Instagram Stories: ‘Honestly what is going on… I promise I have a brain.’

The star’s followers were quick to take to the comments section of the post to recount times they too failed their tests in a bid to make Jamie feel better.

One person wrote: ‘I’ve failed twice & I was too embarrassed to do it again. But some of the questions were crazy difficult, I asked experienced drivers in my family & they got them wrong as well!’

While someone else shared: ‘I passed my theory after the 6th time…I think you’ll get there.’

And another person posted: ‘It took me 3 times to pass mine. I didn’t get the hazard and perception click if you see road markings signs and obv visible hazards. Keep practicing revising the questions they ask!’

However, other’s couldn’t resist making light of the situation, while other fans rubbed salt in the wound.

‘This is why it’s called the Batmobile and not the Jamie Robin Laing mobile,’ joked one follower.

‘Don’t mean to flex Jamie.. but I just passed a few days ago by the skin of my teeth, wrote someone else.

Another follower wrote: ‘Apparently you need to read ALL of the book before you take the test (per my god-son who also failed several times).’

Someone else told Jamie: ‘To fail three times is actually worrying.’

Jamie previously said he booked a whopping 40 theory tests – but never bothered to turn up for the exams.

He told The Heat Podcast: ‘I just don’t know. You get up in the morning and you think, ‘Am I really going to go all the way to Kingston to do my theory test?”

It comes after his fiancée Sophie hit back at fans who have been messaging her and asking if she’s ‘pregnant’.

She recently told fans she’s just ‘bloated’ after making a red carpet appearance at the National Television Awards in London last month.

At the coveted event, Sophie, 28, stunned in a flowing teal blue dress.

She shared an Instagram story on Friday, saying she’d had countess messages from fans asking if she’s pregnant.

She posted one message from a fan that asked the question and wrote: ‘I can’t cope with the amount of messages like this I’ve received today. Lol.’

She added: ‘No just bloat,’ alongside a smile face emoji.
