The 42-year-old man approached the parked taxi on Hunter Street in Sydney‘s CBD last week before allegedly damaging the vehicle, according to police.

He allegedly damaged the door handle of the taxi when he tripped while trying to get inside it.

This caused an argument between the man and the 52-year-old cab driver, with the man seemingly running away.

He is alleged to have returned to the cab 10 minutes later before getting inside and threatening the driver who was trying to get him out.

The man then drove off before the car was found the next morning left in Woollahra.

It is alleged the taxi sustained ‘significant damage’ after being taken by the man in the footage, obtained by 7 News.

Images of the handsome stranger, sporting a dark blue suit and white collared shirt, were sent out across police social media channels this week.
