Nicola Roberts is the fifth star confirmed to be appearing in the Strictly Come Dancing Christmas Special.
The Girls Aloud singer, 37, is set to take to the dancefloor with Giovanni Pernice, 32, as her professional partner.
The Beat Of My Drum hitmaker announced the news on Zoe Ball’s Radio 2 Breakfast Show and revealed she’d been ‘promised extra glitter and sparkle’.

She said: ‘It’s truly an honour to be part of Strictly, but to be invited on to the prestigious Christmas day episode is something very special indeed.
‘They’ve promised me extra glitter, sparkle and frosting all wrapped up together with a big bow on top. What more could a girl wish for at Christmas!’
Nicola is best known for being one fifth of Girls Aloud, who were formed 20 years ago this Christmas.
She recently reunited with Cheryl, Nadine Coyle and Kimberley Walsh to honour Sarah Harding with a fundraising gala after the singer tragically died from breast cancer last September aged 39.

The singer also presented a critically acclaimed BBC Three documentary Nicola Roberts: The Truth About Tanning and successfully advocated for a ban on underage usage of tanning beds.
Nicola will no doubt be seeking advice from her bandmate Kimberley after she reached the final of the 2012 series of Strictly.
The singer and her partner Pasha Kovalev were the joint runners-up in the final, along with Denise van Outen and losing to Louis Smith.

It comes after Larry Lamb was announced as the fourth celebrity, with the Gavin And Stacey star paired with professional dancer Nadiya Bychkova.
Larry, who is also best known for his role as the villainous Archie Mitchell on EastEnders, said he’s ‘incredibly nervous’ to be taking to the dancefloor for the Christmas episode.
Larry said: ‘Christmas has come early! I can’t wait to get on the dance floor and learn a brand new skill ready for all those festive parties.

The actor has starred in numerous TV series, playing iconic roles such as Mick Shipman in Gavin and Stacey and Archie Mitchell in EastEnders.
A keen traveller, Larry presents Channel 5 docu-series Britain by Bike, which sees him and his son George cycling across Britain, and he also regularly works with BBC One’s The One Show, presenting their history and heritage films.

Larry’s appearance on Strictly was unveiled during Thursday’s episode of The One Show.
The actress is best known for her role as Emma Brooker in the ITV soap but will swap the Rovers Return for the dancefloor this festive season.
Alexandra, 29, will be paired with professional Kai Widdrington, 27, who will no doubt be keen to dust off his dancing shoes, after he and Kaye Adams were the first pair eliminated from the current series of Strictly.

Speaking about appearing on the show, Alexandra revealed: ‘I’ve grown up with Strictly Come Dancing.
‘My mum always said she’d love to see me on the show so this really is the best Christmas present I could give her.
‘I can’t wait to get into the training room and see what festive moves I can bring to the table!’

It comes after Rosie Ramsey and Rickie Haywood-Williams were announced as the first two contestants for the special on Wednesday.
The beloved BBC show returns to the Ballroom for an all-star Christmas special as six new contestants take to the floor in a bid to be crowned Christmas Champion 2022.
Each of the six couples will perform a Christmas inspired routine with the hope of impressing the judges, Craig Revel Horwood, Motsi Mabuse, Anton Du Beke, Head Judge Shirley Ballas, and the voting audience.

Meanwhile, DJ and presenter Rickie will be paired with Strictly Come Dancing professional dancer Luba Mushtuk.
He said: ‘I have watched Strictly over the years and always said I’d be too scared to do it. But here I am ready to go for it, sequins n’ all.’
There are only six celebrities still left in this year’s series of Strictly; Fleur East, Hamza Yassin, Helen Skelton, Kym Marsh, Molly Rainford and Will Mellor.
Ellie Taylor became the most recent star sent home when she and Johannes Radebe ended up in the bottom two on last week’s episode.
Strictly Come Dancing Christmas special will air on BBC One and BBC iPlayer on Christmas Day.
