Horror stabbing on a bus in Melbourne: Man is fighting for life after fight breaks out

A teenager has been rushed to hospital with life-threatening injuries following a stabbing on a bus in Melbourne.

Emergency services were called to Fitzsimons Lane, Templestowe, at about 4.30pm on Thursday after receiving reports of an altercation on a bus. 

Victoria Police say the stabbing occurred during an alleged altercation on a bus between the 16-year-old victim and another man. 

The teen was taken to Royal Melbourne Hospital with life-threatening injuries. 

He was discharged by Friday morning as police confirm his alleged attacker is still on the run and that no charges have been laid.

‘Both exited the bus and the offender ran off,’ police said in a statement. 

The men are understood to be known to each other.

Almost four hours after the incident, roads were still blocked off as officers probed the area and took statements from the driver and other witnesses.
