Shocking moment woke Wisconsin students shred and EAT Christian protester’s Bible

Progressive protesters were observed outside a college speaking event this week shouting down a young man reading passages from his Bible before grabbing the book from him, ripping it up and eating its pages.

Conservative commentator Matt Walsh had been on the University of Madison, Wisconsin campus for a screening of his controversial film ‘What is a Woman?’ when he encountered a hoard of screeching students.

In a shocking video posted by the Young America’s Foundation, a student with a shock of bright red hair can be seen shoving pages from a torn up Bible in her mouth.

In a second video, protesters are seen and heard shouting into megaphones that white people are ‘f***ing racist’ and that they are there to ‘collectively chase Nazis off the U-W campus.’

The crowd can also be heard chanting ‘trans right are human rights!’

YAF intercut the protest video with a clip of a large crowd inside the auditorium of 400 people where Walsh was set to speak warmly welcoming the commentator to stage.

Despite the protests, the screening went on as scheduled.

‘I want to thank also the leftist crybabies for the free advertising spray painted all over campus,’ said Walsh prior to the Monday night screening.

‘To the UW-Madison administration: you should be ashamed of yourselves. You are disgraceful, self-debasing cowards, and you spineless, gutless clowns owe me an apology,’ he said added, referencing a message the university had sent out before his arrival.

What is a Woman? is a documentary released earlier this year by Walsh that delves into the societal perceptions and realities of gender and transgender issues while contending that womanhood is determined by biology.

Although the film was met with intense scrutiny from progressives and members of the Left Wing, it was generally well-received by conservatives and those open to the ideas it presented.

Nick Baker, a spokesperson for the organization, told Fox News that the ‘leftists’ attempts to silence a student reading the Bible demonstrate their utter contempt for the Judeo-Christian values upon which America was founded.’

‘We’re seeing this sort of insane behavior on college campuses across the country, and it’s time to hold these students accountable,’ MJ Alfonso, a YAF Program officer, said.

In response to the video, Walsh tweeted: ‘Well, you can be on the side that eats the Bible and castrates children, or you can be on literally any side but that one. Your choice, America.’

Walsh also posted a series of images to his Twitter account documenting the early reaction to his presence on campus, which included vandalizing a veteran’s memorial.

A campus building was also vandalized with the words ‘trans women are women – F*** Matt Walsh and YAF’ sprayed in black paint.

In response, the university appears to have sent a message to students that says they are ‘aware that a speaker is coming to campus’ whose ‘viewpoints we believe are harmful toward our trans community.’

‘We feel the impact this is having on our campus, and we wanted to reach out,’ continued the message.

Walsh wrote that the apology to the vandals was the ‘worst cowardice I’ve ever seen by a university.’

YAF and the university’s YAF chapter have also demanded an investigation into an employee of the university who was spotted tearing down flyers advertising the event.

The employee is a teacher’s assistant in the Gender & Women’s Studies Department.

In response to the vandalism and protests surrounding Walsh’s appearance, former Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker, who now heads up the Young America’s Foundation, said the protestors and administration ‘don’t want mainstream discussions on campus.’

Walsh has been consistent about his view that transgender identifying people are, in reality, the gender they were biologically assigned at birth and that gender-affirming care for minors is a form of child mutilation.

His speech at U-W was a ticket-only event, which prevented protesters from descending on the microphone to challenge Walsh’s views.

In a statement regarding the property destruction that occurred on campus before Walsh spoke, a university spokesperson said: ‘The university is deeply committed to the right to free speech . . . However, criminal damage to the university’s buildings and spaces– for any reason or purpose– is unacceptable and will not be tolerated.’

Similar protests of Walsh’s film have taken place in recent weeks at the University of Houston, University of Illinois-Urbana Champagne and the University of Central Florida.

The debate surrounding gender issues in American rages on and was front and center this week when transgender TikToker Dylan Mulvaney was granted audience with President Biden to discuss access to gender-affirming care in some US states.

Whether to allow young people to take puberty-blockers, hormones or undergo surgery has become a hot-button issue in America’s culture wars, and Republican officials in Arkansas, Alabama, and Texas have sought to limit access to procedures.

Statistics on this issue are contested, but there does appear to be a rise in the number of young people seeking to transition, and studies suggest that online social media and peer groups play a role in the uptick.

Researchers from Vanderbilt University, in Nashville, Tennessee, this month found that the number of chest reconstruction surgeries being performed on trans children shot up nearly five-fold between 2016 and 2019, when it reached 489.

A report by the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), published this year found that 300,000 US children aged between 13 and 17 identified as transgender in 2020 — doubling in number from 2017.

The number of chest reconstruction surgeries among children in the US jumped five-fold from 2016 to 2019, from 100 to 489 annually
