Sheridan Smith kept it casual as she signed autographs outside The Duke Of York Theatre after performing in Shirley Valentine on Thursday evening.

The actress, 41, cut a laidback figure in washed-out blue skinny jeans and a dark hoodie as she greeted eager fans outside the London theatre.

She completed her look with a pair of black and white high-top Nike trainers and slung a black jacket across her shoulders.

Sheridan, who is currently starring in one woman-show Shirley Valentine, tucked her golden locks beneath a gold capped baseball cap.

She accentuated her striking features with a bold slick of red lipstick and appeared to be in jovial spirits as she flashed a huge grin.

Sheridan received a standing ovation from the full house audience after her first performance in the eponymous role last Friday.

Following the show, many also took to social media to laud the star and her ‘perfect’ performance.

The opening performance on Friday night was the first of a 15-week run for Sheridan in Willy Russell’s play Shirley Valentine.

Shirley Valentine, which was also made into a 1989 movie with Pauline Collins, is a on-woman-show which tells the story of a working class housewife from Liverpool.

The play is the joyous, life-affirming story of the woman who got lost in marriage and motherhood, the woman who wound up talking to the kitchen wall whilst cooking her husband’s chips and egg.

But Shirley still has a secret dream. And in her bag, an airline ticket. One day she may just leave a note, saying: ‘Gone! Gone to Greece.’

Shirley Valentine is written by Willy Russell, directed by Matthew Dunster, designed by Paul Wills, with lighting design by Lucy Carter, sound design by Ian Dickinson for Autograph and is produced by David Pugh.
