Schapelle Corby posts an emotional video celebrating nine years since she was released from Kerobokan Prison after drug trafficking conviction

Schapelle Corby can always get people talking with the mere mention of her name. 

Now the 45-year-old has sent her fans crazy on social media on Friday after she posted an emotional video dressed in a summer frock. 

With her voice shaking, she celebrated the ninth anniversary since she was released from Kerobokan Prison in Bali.

She had served nine years behind bars after being charged of smuggling drugs into the country. 

‘I felt queasy in my stomach and I felt a kind of regurgitation of trauma just coming in and settling in my stomach and trying to take over my mind,’ she said of the gruelling experience. 

Schapelle revealed she would mark the milestone with having a Pina Colada with her mother, go for a swim and give away one of her custom-made resin clocks to a lucky fan.

‘I want to celebrate the day – because it is a good day – with something that really occupies my mind and has been such a healing process for me,’ she said.

In October 2004, Australian Schapelle Corby became a household name when the then 27-year-old beauty student was arrested at Bali’s Ngurah Rai Airport with 4.2kg of marijuana in her boogie board bag, a crime she has always denied committing.

Seven months later, the world watched on as Corby famously broke down in the courtroom while being sentenced to 20 years in prison.

After a series of sentence reductions, Corby was released on parole in February 2014 after nine years behind bars.

After three years living in Bali, she was deported back to Australia in 2017 and is now a social media influencer on the Gold Coast.
