‘Was that a tad spicy?!’: Saturday Kitchen viewers in stitches as host Matt Tebbutt struggles to present after trying hottest dosa filled with chilli
Saturday Kitchen host Matt Tebbutt got more than he bargained for after confidently declaring he could handle a dosa which was ’10 out of 10′ on the heat scale.Â
The presenter, 49, gasped for air and covered his mouth in shock after taking a bite into the thin pancake made by mother and daughter trio Mumbai Mix.Â
In the entertaining segment, Matt was asked how hot he wanted his dosa, filled with curry, to be, with the host telling them he could handle the ’10 out of 10′ heat.
As his co-stars tucked into ready-made dosas at the table, one warned: ‘If this is five out of 10, I’m interested if you can handle 10 out 10’.Â

Hot: The presenter, 49, gasped for air and covered his mouth in shock after taking a bite into the thin pancake made by mother and daughter trio Mumbai Mix.
While Mumbai Mix said they thought he would be ok with the heat, Matt tucked into a healthy bite – only for the chilli to hit his lips.Â
He told them: ‘This is a lot hotter than the one I tried yesterday.’Â Â
Struggling, the host waved his hands and his eyes watered as he urged them to keep talking before he told them: ‘I will tuck into more once I can handle it.’
Those watching at home said the scenes were ‘priceless’.Â
One wrote: ‘this is one of the funniest cooking shows I’ve seen for ages. Seeing @matt_tebbutt struggle with the chilli was funny (sorry Matt). Great TV, thank you.’
Another added: ‘Priceless. I can feel the love and the chilli. I feel good. Unlike Matt’.Â
A third viewer asked: ‘Was that a tad spicy?’, while a fourth fan teased: ‘you didn’t eat very much of your level 10 Dosa’s!!’
‘Nice to see Matt being brave enough to go for a Ten, or maybe that was more of a choice of the rest of the Team, wanting to see him suffer?,’ wrote another.Â
Elsewhere in the show, Fleur East made a racy remark as she helped make a cockle dish.Â
