Sarah Michelle Gellar brought the glamour in a stunning purple gown with lace embroidery as she arrived to the 11th annual SCAD TVfest in Atlanta, Georgia on Thursday.

While preparing to promote her new Paramount+ TV series, Wolf Pack, the 45-year-old Buffy the Vampire Slayer actress, who is set to receive Savannah College of Art and Design’s 2023 Icon Award on Saturday, beamed as she strutted down the red carpet in a pair of open-toed black heels.

For the occasion, the mother-of-two wore her golden blonde tresses in beachy waves, a maroon lipstick, bronzer and a sweeping of blush on the apple of her cheeks for a natural-looking flush.

At the event, she was joined by the cast of her supernatural teen drama, which included Rodrigo Santoro, Chloe Rose Robertson, Bella Shepard, Tyler Lawrence Gray and Armani Jackson.

Rachel Bilson, who stars on Fox’s crime drama Accused, based on the 2010 British series of the same name, opted to turn heads in a completely sheer blouse over a black bra.

The Hart of Dixie alum styled her risqué top under a speckled beige pantsuit and black heels, which added a few extra inches to her petite stature.

Her light brown tresses cascaded down her shoulders as she posed for photos with costars Reid Miller, Jack Davenport and showrunner Howard Gordon.

Every day year, ‘more than 50,000 people attend the eight-day festival to enjoy a variety of film screenings, workshops, panels and lectures,’ according to the SCAD TVfest’s website

Last month, SCAD TVfest announced Gellar will be the recipient of the Icon Award.

‘Sarah Michelle Gellar is a trailblazer in the field of television. An actor who speaks to many generations, she epitomizes what it means to be a television icon,’ said Christina Routhier, executive director of SCAD TVfest.

She continued: ‘At SCAD TVfest, we work to feature amazing women in the industry throughout all of our programming. We are so excited to welcome Sarah to receive the Icon Award as we return to an in-person festival in Atlanta this year.’

Amy Acker, best known for starring as Winifred Burkle and Illyria on the supernatural drama series Angel and the superhero drama series The Gifted, was also in attendance.

Acker, 46, sported an orange and pink floral midi dress, long gold pendant and matching heels.

Last week, Gellar stated that she was a victim of sexism in Hollywood and ‘still doesn’t get taken seriously by men’ on film sets.

As the star made her return to the industry following a career break, Sarah spoke about the burnout she experienced as a teen on her hit 90s series.

Speaking about moving to the west coast of the US after graduating from high school in New York at 16, Sarah told The Guardian about the pressure of working on the series with little free time to be young.

’22 episodes burn everybody out, not just the writers… Now we live in a world where TV can be eight to 10 episodes, and not murder you,’ she pointed out.

After finishing up as Buffy Anne Summers when the show came to an end in 2003, Sarah’s most notable role was as Sydney Roberts in sitcom The Crazy Ones in 2013.

Leading alongside Hollywood royalty Robin Williams, the series finished in April 2014, and it was his first regular TV role since Mork and Mindy in the 1970s.

They were the leading two of the CBS series, as Robin, playing Simon Roberts, ran a creative agency with his daughter Sydney (Sarah) while ‘struggling to maintain various facets of their lives’.

But only four months later, 63-year-old Robin took his own life, and it was something that caused a ‘reset’ in Sarah’s life.

She explained: ‘When we lost Robin, it was this whole reset for me: “Everything’s going by really fast, and I’m missing it”. When I did the pilot for The Crazy Ones, my son was two months old – it was nonstop, and I needed to be at home for a while.’

And despite being in the industry for over 25 years, Sarah revealed that men on sets still do not take her seriously.

‘I still don’t get taken seriously by men on sets,’ Sarah said. ‘I still feel the need, sometimes, to read [out] my résumé, like: “How many of these shows have you done? How many experiences have you had at 2am with 250 extras, a late shot, a stunt – all of these things? I not only have produced it, but I’ve also been in it. Listen to me, because I know where I’m coming from”.’

While speaking on The Graham Norton Show last month, the star said she wanted to create a ‘safe’ environment for the younger actors on the show.

Sarah added that she wanted to ‘protect’ the cast, which comes after claims of bullying on the set of Buffy The Vampire Slayer became public in recent years.
