San Francisco 49ers defensive end Charles Omenihu, 25, is arrested for misdemeanor domestic violence after ‘pushing his girlfriend to the ground during a fight’ a day after the team’s playoff win over the Dallas Cowboys
San Francisco 49ers defensive lineman Charles Omenihu has been arrested on suspicion of domestic violence after police were called to his San Jose home, according to a department statement.
The 25-year-old was booked at the Santa Clara County jail, but has since been released after posting bail. The allegation is only a misdemeanor, but Omenihu could still be sentenced to up to a year in prison if convicted.
Officers were called to his home in San Jose on Monday afternoon, when a woman, claiming to be his girlfriend, said he ‘pushed her to the ground during an argument.’
In a department press release, officers say that the woman complained of arm pain, but ‘did not observe any visible physical injuries.’

She declined medical attention.
‘We are aware of the matter involving Charles Omenihu and are in the process of gathering further information,’ the team said in an official statement.
The alleged incident took place less than 24 hours after San Francisco’s playoff win over the Dallas Cowboys in Santa Clara on Sunday.
