Ryan Gosling returns to cowboy Ken look filming Barbie in LA… as wife Eva Mendes reveals she asked him to bring his costume underwear home for her to wear

He set the internet aflutter with his first-look image as Ken.

And Ryan Gosling vanished into the role when he was spotted this Wednesday filming the upcoming Barbie movie starring Margot Robbie.

The 41-year-old was all dressed up as a cowboy version of Ken for an energetic scene, at one point clenching his fists and gritting his teeth.

There’s Ken: Ryan Gosling vanished into the role when he was spotted this Wednesday filming the upcoming Barbie movie starring Margot Robbie

His chiseled features appeared to have been emphasized with makeup in order to play up the movie star’s resemblance to a doll.

Even though he was modeling a large beige cowboy hat, his platinum blonde character hair was distinctly visible.

Ryan was filming his latest scene at the beach in Los Angeles, just in the shadow of the city’s famous Santa Monica Pier.

He was spotted wearing the same cowboy Ken outfit a week earlier while filming a scene with Margot in Los Angeles.

Ryan’s latest sighting comes after his wife Eva Mendes dished that she asked him to bring his Ken underwear home with him – and he agreed.

Social media went wild when Ryan appeared in a first-look image as Ken, showing off his chiseled torso in an open denim vest.

His jeans slid down to reveal an underwear waistband with ‘KEN’ written across it, in a parody of Calvin Klein undergarments.

Eva called the look ‘hysterical’ on E!’s Nightly Pop, while confessing that the ‘little 14-year-old in me’ was privately swooning.

‘I actually have that underwear – the Ken underwear. I asked for it,’ she spilled. ‘I just said: “Just please bring home the Ken underwear. That’s all I want.”‘

Seeing her husband as Ken was ‘my teenage dream, for sure. It’s so funny because it’s like he’s playing a character. He’s not playing a real person, he’s playing a doll.’

He was roundly mocked on social media over the first-look image, with one person marveling: ‘how did they mange to make Ryan Gosling not hot?’

A chorus of social media users applied the word ‘terrifying’ to the look, with other adjectives including ‘horrendous.’

However Eva leapt to his defense on The Talk, saying: ‘People do know he’s not playing a real person, right? He’s playing a fake person.’

She also discussed asking for the Ken underwear, cheekily spilling on the daytime chat show: ‘I’m wearing it right now.’

Greta Gerwig is directing the upcoming Barbie movie, having written the screenplay with her husband, the acclaimed filmmaker Noah Baumbach.
