Ricky Martin shared a rare snap of his son Matteo, aged 13, to his Instagram account on Sunday.

In the photo, one of the 50-year-old hitmaker’s twin sons gave a thumbs up to the camera while sitting in what appeared to be a director’s chair.

The performer also added a short message in his post’s caption that read: ‘Look who decided to accompany me to the filming of my new video.’

Martin welcomed Matteo and his twin brother Valentino in 2008.

The former Menudo member’s eldest children were born via gestational surrogacy.

At the time, the singer pointed out that he had considered adoption, although he chose to work with a surrogate to bring his sons into his life in a quicker manner.

He later began a relationship with his now-husband and the twins’ second father, Jwan Yosef, in 2016.

Martin and his spouse became engaged that same year and they tied the knot in 2018.

The happy couple announced that they had welcomed a daughter named Lucia, aged three, that December.

The singer went on to reveal that he and his husband were looking to add another child to their lives in September of 2019.

Martin and Yosef, 37, subsequently welcomed a son named Renn, aged two, the following month.

The performer discussed his earlier years during an interview with Out and recalled that he had previously been fearful of not being able to have a family due to his sexuality prior to his coming out in 2010.

‘Many years I dreamt of being a father, and many, many, many times I went through this grieving process of I am gay, I am a closeted gay man, and I’m not going to be able to be a daddy,’ he said.

He pointed out that, although he supported the idea of adoption for LGBT+ couples, he was aware of the hardships that many of them faced.

‘Obviously adoption is an option and it’s very beautiful, but unfortunately for gay men it’s very difficult to adopt in some countries,’ he said.

Martin went on to discuss how his children supported him when he called for the resignation of the then-governor of Puerto Rico, Ricardo Rossello, in 2019.

‘One thing that I’m going to always take with me is that after those days protesting, my kids would wait for me back home,’ he said.

He added: ‘I knew that they will become revolutionaries because of the passion that we have towards social justice and fairness for all.’
