‘Turns out I can keep a secret’: Rebecca Ferguson gives birth! Former X Factor star makes surprise announcement after welcoming a baby with her husband
Singer Rebecca Ferguson and her husband Jonny Hughes have announced the arrival of their first child together in a surprise social media post.
The former X Factor contestant, 36, shared an Instagram update on Friday to announce the joyous news, posting an adorable snap of their new baby.
Alongside the photo, she penned: Surprise! Turns out I can keep a secret. Born on Valentines Day.’
Rebecca, who was a finalist on the competition in 2010, and Jonny kept the pregnancy a secret and have yet to announce the name and gender of the newborn.
The couple married in December of last year at her ‘dream wedding venue’ in London’s upmarket Mayfair district, after seven years of dating.

Speaking at the time, Rebecca said the ‘final puzzle piece’ in her life is now in place after a ceremony at The Dorchester hotel.
She told HELLO! that family members including her children Lillie, 18, Karl, 16, and eight-year-old Arabella attended her wedding to sports agent Hughes.
Rebecca shares her eldest two children with ex Karl Dures, who she met as a teenager, daughter Arabella is from a later relationship.
The singer explained: ‘Years ago when I was starting out, I’d get the Megabus from Liverpool to London. It was cheap as chips. We used to drive past Park Lane.
‘It was inspirational for me because I’d be looking at The Dorchester, thinking, “One day I’ll get to stay there.” It was a dream come true for me to get married there.’
Rebecca also said it was a testament to how far she has come to put the ‘horrible stuff’ behind her and find ‘peace and happiness’.
Johnny said his bride looked beautiful and it was ‘really touching’ to see Lillie with a tear in her eye.
Rebecca said when she had asked other long-term couples how they knew they had ‘met the one’, they said you ‘just know’.

She added: ‘I felt the same with Jonny. I could be myself around him.’
The singer confirmed her engagement on New Year’s Day as she posted a series of snaps with Jonny, a sports agent.
Over her career Rebecca has had top 20 songs including Nothing’s Real But Love, Backtrack and I Hope, according to Official Charts.
All her albums, 2011’s Heaven, 2013’s Freedom, 2015’s Lady Sings The Blues and 2016’s Superwoman have made it into the top 10.
