The presenter, whose mother is Jewish, made a speech at Westminster in January 2019 for the Holocaust Educational Trust discussing the online abuse she has received as a public figure.

In February, she was awarded £10,000 in damages by a High Court judge after suing Corbyn’s former aide Laura Murray after a Twitter row.

In November, Rachel was awarded £50,000 in damages for libel from a political blogger who wrote an article claiming she was a ‘serial abuser’.

In an Instagram post, Rachel said she was ‘incredibly proud’ to receive an MBE.

‘Incredibly proud to have just been awarded an MBE in the King’s New Year’s Honours for services to Holocaust education,’ she wrote.

‘Grateful to everyone who has sent well wishes and support over the years.

‘This is very much shared with so many people who also dedicate their time and energy to fighting anti-Jewish racism.

‘I promise to keep working to deserve the honour.

She finished: ‘PS I love this picture from a 2019 Holocaust UK event, with Sir Ben Helfgott, you can read about his life story on the HET website, he’s amazing.’
