The pool boy who had an affair with Becki Falwell, the wife of disgraced ex-Liberty University leader Jerry Falwell Jr. claims in a new documentary, how the couple liked to record themselves having sex.
Giancarlo Granda, who worked at the ritzy Fontainebleau Hotel when he met Falwell’s wife in 2012, made the comments at the start of a new Hulu documentary about the Falwell’s life entitled God Forbid: The Sex Scandal That Brought Down a Dynasty.
Granda states how Falwell Jr. ‘liked to record his wife having sex with me. I know the truth about them, and the whole world is going to find out,’ he states in a trailer for the documentary due to be released next month.
‘As a pool attendant, I would get hit on, but if I would have known that accepting this woman’s invitation to go back to her hotel room would have led to a scandal involving the president of the largest Christian university in the world, and the president of the United States, I would have walked away and just enjoyed my private life,’ said Granda.
The documentary delves deeper in Granda’s side of the story, seven years after he first met the Falwells at the legendary Miami pool.
‘They have a public image, but behind the scenes, they’re freaks,’ Granda says. ‘If they wanted to make me disappear, they could do it.’

Granda met the Falwells in 2012, at the age if 20, and began a sexual relationship with Becki, who was 44 at the time.
Granda said that he had an affair with Becki while Falwell Jr. watched. Granda claimed that they formed a ‘throuple’ – a polyamorous couple who invite a third person to join their relationship.
Granda insists that Jerry watched him and Becki the first time they had intercourse, which occurred in March 2012.
Granda has emails, text messages and other evidence that he says demonstrate the sexual nature of his relationship with the couple, who have been married since 1987.
‘Becki and I developed an intimate relationship and Jerry enjoyed watching from the corner of the room,’ Granda told Reuters in 2020.
He described the liaisons as frequent – ‘multiple times per year’ – and said the encounters took place at hotels in Miami and New York, and at the Falwells’ home in Virginia.
‘This is not correct. I had a big Canon camera. A couple of times I put it on the dresser and Giancarlo agreed to it,’ Becki told People, referring back to comments she had made earlier this year.
During a Vanity Fair interview, Jerry, 57, admitted that he’d once walked in on Becki and Granda in bed, and claimed to have been ‘traumatized’ by the sight of another man having sex with his spouse.
But the Falwells even entered into a business agreement with Granda which saw them support his hospitality venture. Asked why they’d continued to bankroll Granda to the tune of $1.8 million, long after the personal relationship had allegedly soured, Jerry claimed it had been too good a business opportunity to miss.
Granda has since accused the Falwells of ‘grooming him’.

Granda denies any such intent, saying he was seeking to negotiate a buyout from a business arrangement he says he had with the couple.

‘We watched this play out in real time a couple of years ago and thought we knew the whole story. But if you think this is just a salacious sex scandal involving a former pool boy and the president and first lady of the largest Christian university in the world, you don’t know the half of it,’ Corben teased.
‘We hope the takeaway is: leaders who want to impose their moral beliefs on others often have the most skeletons in their closet. Now more than ever, people in power and those seeking office seem to live by the motto, ‘Do as I say, not as I do.”

Jerry’s time as president of Liberty University in Lynchburg, Virginia, came to an end last year after Granda’s revelations about the years-long affair emerged.
But in January of this year, the Falwells told Vanity Fair they had moved on.
‘We’re together more than any couple you will ever meet in your life,’ Becki said. ‘He forgave me, and that’s what Jesus teaches, forgiveness.’
Becki has claimed how in 2017 Granda pressured her into having sex in her 25 year-old daughter’s Caroline’s bed long, after the relationship between her and Granda had ended.

‘He said he wanted to have sex and I said, ‘No, no, no.’ I kept saying no. I didn’t want to do it,’ Becki said.
‘But I was scared to death of him too, because he was still holding everything over me, so we had sex. He left and I went into the room and just cried.
‘I said no. Just because we had sex before does not mean he has a free ticket to my body,’ she told the magazine earlier this year.
Jerry, one of the most influential right-wing Christian leaders in the United States, went public about his wife’s infidelity in 2020.
He said the couple had chosen to make the affair public as he alleged the pool boy had been blackmailing them for years about keeping the secret.

‘Jerry would wake up every morning and worry that my affair would come out. Both of us did,’ Becki recalled. ‘It’s just horrible to have that over you.’
Jerry claims Granda devised an extortion plot and demanded $2million to keep the affair secret.
When he took the affair public two years ago, Jerry claimed that the ‘threatening behavior’ left him with ‘trauma’ and had greatly affected him as he tried to run Liberty University.
‘It was like living on a roller coaster,’ Jerry said at the time. ‘While completely dedicating ourselves to Liberty, we were also suffering in silence during our personal time together, while simultaneously trying to manage and deal with this increasingly threatening behavior, which only worsened over time.
‘We were doing our best to respectfully unravel this ‘fatal attraction’ type situation to protect our family and the university.’
He claimed the relationship began when at a time when he was dedicating too much time to the university after being appointed its president following the death of his father in 2007. He said he was not not spending enough time with Becki during that period in his life.
‘Becki had an inappropriate personal relationship with this person, something in which I was not involved,’ he insisted in 2020, ‘it was nonetheless very upsetting to learn about.’
Now, Becki claims that two have worked through the hardships caused by the affair and are both very grateful to have their marriage.
‘We’re together more than any couple you will ever meet in your life,’ she told Vanity Fair. ‘He forgave me, and that’s what Jesus teaches, forgiveness.’

Liberty University, based in Lynchburg, Virginia, was founded in 1971 by Falwell’s televangelist father, the Rev. Jerry Falwell.
The younger Falwell took over in 2007 before resigning in August 2020.
Today, the university boasts an online and on-campus enrollment that exceeds 100,000 students and holds those who attend to an exacting honor code.
‘Sexual relations outside of a biblically ordained marriage between a natural-born man and a natural-born woman are not permissible at Liberty University,’ the code reads.
Students are also banned from engaging with media that contains lewd lyrics, sexual content and nudity. They can also be fined $250 if they’re caught drinking alcohol.
Falwell’s resignation represented a remarkable fall from grace for a man who had been a potent force in American conservative politics.
His surprise 2016 endorsement of Donald Trump helped the twice-divorced New Yorker win the Republican nomination for president.
The Falwells were also big supporters of President Trump, and were credited with helping drive important support among Evangelical Christians
