Pink’s husband Carey Hart lifts weights as he has a catheter installed in his chest: ‘My old & infected self is still getting after it’
Pink’s husband Carey Hart was seen working out with a kettlebell Thursday, as he has a catheter installed in his chest.
The one-time motocross competitor, 47, took to Instagram Thursday to document his physical recovery after undergoing spinal fusion surgery in December, as he shared a shot of a home workout and message of optimism as he forges through the challenging time.
Hart, who is father to 11-year-old daughter Willow and six-year-old son Jameson with the Grammy-winning artist, 43, said last month that an infection he had led to the installation of a catheter in his chest.
‘Chest tube baby,’ the Seal Beach, California native captioned the shot, in which he wore black shorts with black gloves and worked out on a red mat. ‘My old & infected self is still getting after it.’
Hart said he was halfway through the antibiotic treatment he’s undergoing, and that he liked the new workout line from Fox Racing Moto, adding, ‘Check out all their tech gear for men and women!!! Stuff is legit.’

Hart wrapped up the post in saying, ‘No excuses people, you got this. Get after it, give it 100%.’
Hart explained his medical situation in detail in last month, as he posted a trio of images in which he was administering himself antibiotics via a home medical kit, and how his chest looks with the catheter and wires affixed to it.
He said that he learned about ‘a couple days before Christmas ‘ that he had ‘an infection in some old hardware in [his] body,’ which led to a stressful holiday season.
‘I got this tunneled catheter installed in my chest,’ Hart said. ‘Now for the next 41 days I have to inject antibiotics to knock this sucker out.Â
‘I can handle a bone sticking out of my skin, but this catheter is definitely nerve racking. Wonder if I can push some caffeine through it? Just kidding.’Â
Hart, who recently celebrated his 17th anniversary with the Get the Party Started artist, said that the extensive medical care was not how he wanted to begin the new year, but that he’s ‘thankful it was found and modern medicine has the tools to treat it.’
He wrapped up in saying, ‘Gonna be a long 6 weeks, but I got this. Coming back better and stronger. Take care everyone, and stay healthy!’
Hart took to Instagram December 1 with a shot of himself in a hospital bed following the surgical procedure.
‘Surgery went great!!!!!’ he said. ‘Already been up and out of my bed 3 times cruising the surgery center. Ended up fusing the vertebrae because the joint was a bit hammered.’
