BREAKING NEWS: Caddie receives CPR after collapsing on the course at celebrity Pebble Beach Pro-Am golf tournament involving Aaron Rodgers, Gareth Bale and Bill Murray… forcing play to be stopped to allow ambulance onto fairway
A caddie at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am received CPR after collapsing on the 11th fairway on Friday afternoon.
The tournament, which is being broadcast live on CBS and involves big names like Aaron Rodgers, Josh Allen and Gareth Bale, was temporarily stopped while an ambulance came onto the course to attend to the stricken man.
Paolo Uggetti, a golf writer for ESPN, reported that the man – who was caddying for an amateur in the tournament – was still receiving CPR as he was stretchered to an ambulance on the 11th hole.
A few minutes later, amateur Lukas Nelson – a singer in rock band Lukas Nelson and Promise of the Real – told the same reporter that the caddie who collapsed is ‘doing better’.
The incident was later confirmed by the PGA Tour in a statement, which detailed that the man – who has not been named for privacy reasons – was transferred to Montage Health in Monterey for evaluation.

Play at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am was paused while an ambulance attended to the man
It added: ‘At the direction of the PGA Tour Rules Committee, the players in that group paused play during the medical emergency and will be allowed to warm up and resume their rounds shortly. We will provide additional details when available.’
The group in which the caddie was carrying clubs involved four players – two amateurs and two professionals – and they were just over halfway through their round.
It appears the group was made up of Nelson and Geoff Couch as amateurs, while Max McGreevy and Beau Hossler were the pros.
McGreevy told ESPN that the caddie ‘collapsed in the middle of the fairway and they attempted to get his bag off him quickly so they could try CPR.’
It was reported shortly after that the group have been allowed to pause their round and have since headed back to the clubhouse to ‘regroup’. It is unclear whether they will return to the course to finish their second round.
The tournament at Pebble Beach involves a host of top professionals and famous amateurs, with the likes of comedian Bill Murray, football coach Ron Rivera and actor Will Arnett all present at the course in California.
NFL quarterback Allen is also playing in the tournament, just weeks after his Buffalo Bills teammate Damar Hamlin collapsed on the field and required CPR – the same treatment received by the caddie on Friday.
Hamlin is now in recovery and was present at the Bills’ final game of the season, a playoff defeat by the Cincinnati Bengals on January 22.

Hamlin is rushed to hospital by ambulance after suffering a cardiac arrest on the field. It is as yet unclear whether the caddie suffered the same issue, but he did receive CPR like Hamlin
