And in a new interview with Variety, Pamela Anderson has given an insight into her relationship with the ‘fascinating’ and ‘passionate’ Australian currently in prison in the UK.
The Baywatch star recalled a ‘frisky’ night with Assange during his time holed up in the Ecuadorian Embassy in London after being offered asylum by the Latin American country in 2012 to avoid extradition.
It’s just the latest in a series of revelations by the blonde bombshell as she promotes her upcoming memoir Love, Pamela and a Netflix documentary Pamela, a Love Story to be released on January 31.
She’s been a loyal friend and fierce defender of Wikileaks founder Julian Assange since 2014. And in a new interview with Variety, Pamela Anderson recalled a ‘frisky’ night with the controversial Australian who is currently in prison in the UK
Her visits with Assange led to speculation that there’s was more than just a platonic friendship.
Of her time spent with Assange, the Canadian-born actress and model stated to Variety: ‘It was romantic because it was so inspirational.’
‘He’s so passionate about life and about everything. There’s just nothing that he says that isn’t fascinating,’ she gushed.
‘So there was definitely a connection. We would just talk through the night and drink mezcal and laugh and tell stories.’
In 2019, Assange’s asylum was withdrawn and he was arrested by British authorities.
Facing charges under America’s Espionage Act, the Wikileaks founder is currently being held in a maximum security prison in England as he continues to fight extradition to the United States.
While she is no longer able to visit him, Anderson shared that she continues to write to him and her letters are read to him behind bars by a member of his legal team.

In one anecdote, she recalled to Variety how her presence at the Kremlin had caused a frisson of excitement for Russian President Vladimir Putin.
A longtime animal rights activist, she lobbied Russian politicians to ban the import of seal products.
‘I’d be at the Kremlin, sitting at the table, and everybody would be there,’ she said. ‘Putin was only in the room once, but he heard of everything. I would get messages from other people that he was pleased that I was there.’
‘He kind of got a kick out of me,’ she added.
Anderson, a committed animal rights activist, claimed that Russian President Vladimir Puting ‘got a kick out of me’ when she visited the Kremlin to lobby for a ban on seal imports
