Paige Thorne has revealed she regrets hinting that one Love Island couple were faking their relationship.

The Welsh paramedic, 24, hinted on the Saving Grace podcast in October than one pair from last year’s series were embroiled in a ‘showmance’ when asked which of the couples she believed were fake.

But months later, Paige has now backtracked on her comments, admitting that she was feeling ‘hella b***hy’ at the time and was in a ‘really low place’.

Around the same time as she made her comments, it was revealed that she and boyfriend Adam Collard had split, after she accused him of cheating after he was filmed flirting with other girls on nights out.

Speaking to Her about her words, Paige said: ‘When I did that podcast, I was in a really low place and I was feeling hella b***hy, and I just took it out on everything around me, which showed.

‘It wasn’t the best side of my character but I had heard some news that it’s not all as it seems and I was in my little b***y mood.’

In response to the question back in October, ‘Who is the fakest couple to come out of Love Island this year?’, Paige said on the Saving Grace podcast: ‘All I’m gonna say on this is, wait how many couples are left now? Three?

‘Really, there’s only two. But that’s a secret I’ll never tell.’

Speculation then rose on who was the ‘fake’ couple still performing their relationship to Love Island fans three months after leaving the villa.

The couples still together at that moment were Gemma Owen and Luca Bish, Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu and Davide Sanclimenti, Tasha Ghouri and Andrew Le Page and Dami Hope and Indiyah Polack – though Gemma and Luca have since split.

When Paige made her comments, they were quick to deny any trouble in paradise at the time, with a source close to the couple telling The Mirror: ‘There is lots of talk and rumours about a showmance amongst this year’s contestants but it certainly isn’t Luca and Gemma that everyone is talking about.

‘Luca and Gemma are closer than ever, they don’t feel the need to ham it up on social media every day.’

It comes after Paige opened up to her followers in a candid Q&A on Sunday, where she dished on her relationships with her fellow islanders.

The Love Island star spoke about the breakdown of her relationship with Adam Collard, after she accused him of cheating when he was filmed flirting with other girls on nights out.

She began: ‘I am not going to bash him by any means because I think he had a really hard time when our breakup came out anyway so I’m not going to add to that because I don’t think it’s fair.

‘Obviously everyone was aware of all the videos and pictures that were coming out of like him and his arms around girls in night clubs and whatever on his PAs.

‘I was willing to like put them behind me and like move on because at the end of the day it is just like an arm around. You can get over that.

‘But then I was getting sent like more videos of him on nights out that didn’t go viral and they really were shady. They were shady and I just wasn’t comfortable in it and that’s not a relationship that I want to be in.

She continued: ‘I want to be like 100% certain that my guy is only about me and doesn’t want to be you know accessible to anybody else. So wasn’t something we could agree on.

‘He went to Bali and it just broke down from there. I just texted him like this is dumb, this isn’t working. We’re not even talking whilst we’re on holiday. It’s clear that something has shifted between us. So yeah, let’s just call it a day.
