While many TikTok challenges are considered the ‘hottest’ new thing on the app, one new video trend is leaving some users a little hot under the collar.

People around the world have been taking part in a dangerous TikTok called ‘One Chip Challenge’, which sees the social media user eating one of Paqui’s tortilla chips, which are covered in extremely hot seasoning.

The aim of the spicy challenge is to wait as long as possible before eating or drinking anything.

Consuming the chip can lead to several side effects, including vomiting, nausea, belly pain, throat pain and mouth pain.

Among those who have tried it is Victoria and David Beckham’s son Brooklyn, while a host of other British TikTokers have also put themselves to the test.

There have been reports of people suffering with stomach pains after taking part in the challenge, with an ambulance recently called to a school in Minnesota after a group of students ate the chips.

Paqui warns not everyone should try the challenge, saying: ‘Do not eat if you are sensitive to spicy foods, allergic to peppers, nightshades, or capsaicin, or are pregnant or have any medical conditions.’

The company also warns to keep the chips out of reach of children and to seek medical assistance if you experience nausea, fainting or difficulty breathing after eating.
