Novak Djokovic called for a loudmouth tennis fan to be kicked out at the Australian Open having been on the receiving end of constant heckles at Rod Laver Arena.

Djokovic, 35, took matters into his own hands during his second round match and told the umpire that the spectator in question was trying to ‘get inside my head’ throughout his tie.

‘The guy’s drunk out of his mind, from the first point he’s been provoking me,’ he said. ‘He’s not here to watch tennis. He just wants to get in my head.

‘What are you going to do about it? Why don’t you get security to get him out of the stadium?’

A security official was then seen speaking to a group of fans dressed as Where’s Wally in a bid to calm things down.

Despite the drunkards’ best efforts, they were unable to prevent Djokovic from advancing to the third round, with the Serb defeating Enzo Couacaud 6-1, 6-7 (5), 6-2, 6-0.

There will be concerns about Djokovic’s fitness, however, having taken a medical timeout in the second set. He appeared distinctly uncomfortable throughout the match with his left hamstring and said after the game that his tournament future was in the hands of ‘God’.

‘To be honest, it’s not good at all,’ he said. ‘I’ll take it day to day. It was better last match than tonight.

That’s all I can say, now it is up to God to help me, and physio and everyone, let’s take it day by day.

‘I don’t know, I hope I’ll be able to recover and be ready for a tough match up next match.’

He managed to find a way through this one despite losing a second-set tie-break he seemed to be in control of but there must be serious question marks about his chances of winning a 10th title in Melbourne.
