Netflix’s new disaster movie Troll bags a PERFECT Rotten Tomatoes score – but viewers are still split… with some hailing it the ‘next Godzilla’ and others branding it ‘garbage’

Netflix‘s new number one film Troll has been well-received by critics, earning a perfect Rotten Tomatoes score. 

The Norwegian disaster movie, which follows a group of people who work together to stop an ancient troll running amok, is being called the ‘next Godzilla’ by some fans. 

The critics who gave the film a positive thumbs up said it had some ‘cliché ridden moments’ but believe it could be ‘one of this year’s silliest but best disaster films’.

There were a number of ‘great’ action scenes described as a ‘magnificent beast’ throughout the thriller. 

Overall the site scored the adventure and fantasy movie 88 per cent however, the audience only rated it 49 per cent.

Several viewers took to Twitter to ‘recommend’ the Netflix movie after ‘loving’ it and rated it a ’10/10′.

One wrote: ‘Just finished watching Troll on Netflix, and I can honestly say I’ll never have that hour and 44 minutes of my life back.’

In complete contrast, a few fans were left shocked as they empathised more with the troll than the humans in the film. 

Following an explosion in the Norwegian mountains, an ancient troll awakens after thousands of years and destroys everything in its path as it approaches the capital.

One viewer wrote: ‘I watched Troll last night and I wish the troll would have killed more of the humans in the film. 100 per cent on his side’.

Another penned : ‘Tbh… the troll did absolutely nothing wrong. Yall woke him up, attacked him, previously murdered his whole family, and then attempted to burn him to death. I was honestly on his side’.   

‘I’m watching this movie Troll on Netflix and I’m sorry but I’m siding with the troll on this one… this entire movie I just feel bad for the enemy.’
