Natasha Kaplinsky falls down the stairs live on air as concerned Loose Women stars rush to see if she’s ok
Natasha Kaplinsky fell live on air as she walked onto the Loose Women set on Tuesday’s show.
The newsreader, 50, had been introduced by Ruth Langsford before she made her way to the panel, but stumbled down the steps in her high heeled boots.
The audience gasped as they watched Natasha lose her footing, with the camera panning away from the TV anchor to the audience as she held onto a back wall for balance.
But ever the professional, Natasha brushed off the mishap, and said: ‘Mind the step. I didn’t fall’, as Ruth asked if she was ok and Janet Street Porter provided her hand for comfort.
Natasha was on the show to talk about hosting a Ukrainian family in her home and her charity work to raise awareness of child refugees.

The television presenter’s father Raphael was a South African political refugee who was given sanctuary in the UK after he took part in Cape Town University’s anti-apartheid protests in the 1960s.
She welcomed in a family of four; a father who is partially blind, a mother, a 12-year-old boy and a six-year-old girl. They arrived with just a small suitcase.
Speaking about taking in the family, Natasha said: ‘They’ve moved around the corner, the children are still going to the same school as our children. 10 months is a long time.
‘The minute the scheme opened. I didn’t even consult my husband. It was a scheme that touched so many people in this country, so much generosity.
‘I literally didn’t think about it, registered, it took a while to get connected. I started a WhatsApp group and then connected with them, then Itold my husband and two children.’
The broadcaster is married to banker Justin Bower and they share son Arlo, 13, and daughter Angelica, 12.
Natasha continued: ‘It was exciting welcoming them. We’re lucky we have some space, we have an annex where we welcomed them into.
‘A lady in the community made lots of Ukrainian food, lots of people sent presents.

‘There were 4 million children made refugees, that’s only 10 per cent of refugees around the world.’
Natasha, who has teamed up with Save The Children, added: ‘We’ve just released this beautiful film with Aardman, it shows the experience of a refugee child, nothing makes sense to them.
‘Eventually the world becomes more colourful. It’s not about us just receiving them, but they bring so much culture and a great change to our area.
‘My parents first voted in an election when the Apartheid was lifted – my father was a political refugee – We are able to feel safe, feed our children, we are so lucky.’
