‘I feel very fortunate to have got to know Shane,’ she said. ‘He was as down to earth, fun, kind and as genuine as it gets. He loved life and his family. He’s gone far too soon.

‘Last time we spoke we were planning to catch up when I was next in Melbourne, so it’s very sad to be here now and he’s not. But I do feel very blessed to have met him at all.’

While rumours ran rife that the pair were romantically involved in the past, Emily has always denied the claims – and did so again during the interview.

She also shared a string of photos of the pair, as well as a text message exchange between her and Shane.

One message from Shane read: ‘Glad you’re all cool. I’m great and crushing it haha! You headed this way at all?’

‘Yeah at some point! Hopefully in the next few months I wanna came when it’s still warm,’ she responded, to which Shane replied: ‘Yay! Make sure you hit me up when you get here! Be safe.’

Emily was previously linked to Shane in March 2017, when the two attended a Hollywood party together.

The two then prompted rumours even further when he hinted on Twitter that the pair shared an evening in a hotel room together.

However, the following year, the Australian glamour slammed the suggestion of a fling with the beloved fast bowler.

At the time, she furiously told online trolls to ‘grow up’ when they probed her about her private life.

Taking to her Instagram in December 2018 the blonde revealed all during a Q&A with fans.

When she was asked if she was ‘interested in cricket’ and who her favourite cricketer was, she said she was sick of being asked about the sport.

‘I usually ignore the 55,000 cricket questions I get every time I do this but I’ve got the time tonight,’ Emily said.
