Colin Farrell is back as The Penguin! Oscar-nominated actor looks unrecognizable with prosthetics on his face as he is seen for FIRST TIME on set of The Batman spin-off

Colin Farrell looked unrecognizable with prosthetics on his face as he was seen for the first time reprising his role as The Penguin for The Batman spin-off.

The 46-year-old Oscar-nominated actor was seen in full make-up and outfit to play the supervillian on the New York set of the highly-anticipated  HBO Max limited series on Monday morning.

Colin looked more than ready to play the baddie who is also known as Oswald ‘Oz’  Chesterfield Cobblepot just weeks after revealing filming was supposed to commence

His face looked just as it did in the 2022 action film starring Robert Pattinson as the prosthetics made him look significantly heavier with facial scars and a receding hairline.

He was also dressed perfectly to encapsulate The Penguin as he sported a purple blazer over crisp white dress shirt.

Colin’s black trousers were held up by matching suspenders as he completed the look with black dress shoes.

The limited series will be executive produced by Matt Reeves who directed the aforementioned The Batman.

Not much is known about the plot of the limited series but it is expected to pick up where the film had left off which is with Gotham in a chaotic state in the aftermath of the death of crime boss  Carmine Falcone.

Much of the cast has also remained under wraps but it is known that Cristin Milloti will play Sofia Falcone who is the wife of the late Carmine.

Days ago Deadline reported that Clancy Brown has also been cast as rival mob boss Salvatore Maroni.

Back in January Farrell confessed to Variety that he had no idea he would be asked to star in a stand-alone series about The Penguin while shooting The Batman.

‘The only thing I had an idea was that I wasn’t nearly getting to explore the character as much as I wanted to,’ Farrell, 46, told reporter, Marc Malkinat, the gala event.

‘There was all this extraordinary work done by [makeup and prosthetics artists] Mike Marino and Mike Fontaine and his team, and I just thought it was the tip of the iceberg, pardon the pun, that we were getting to do the six or seven scenes that we did in the film. I was grateful for them, but I wanted more.’

The Castleknock, County Dublin, Ireland native added, ‘Honest to God, any thoughts I had about an extended series was to do with Mike Marino’s work. I Just know there was so much to do with this. Age it up, age it down. He’s just a genius, Mike, so it was his work that was the inspiration really.’

It was Variety that first reported Farrell had signed on to star in The Penguin in December 2021, which was then followed up March 2022 by HBO Max officially ordering the show to series.

The limited series yes yet to have a title and it remains unclear when it will be coming out.
