Woman’s death at Melbourne home sparks homicide probe after she was found with serious injuries before she died

Homicide squad detectives are investigating a woman’s death in Melbourne‘s northeast.

Police were called to a home on Stafford Street at Abbotsford just after 11pm on Wednesday over reports a woman was seriously injured.

The woman, aged 41 from Abbotsford, died at the scene.

A teenage boy at the property was physically unharmed, while two other males are believed to have fled the scene before emergency services arrived, police said.

Officers are yet to make any arrests, with all parties understood to be known to each other.

Police urged anyone with information to contact Crime Stoppers.
