A man has fallen to his death from an apartment building in Melbourne in front of horrified onlookers.

He plunged from the Crown Southbank Riverside Apartments along Power Street around 1pm on Wednesday.

A Victoria Police spokesperson confirmed to Daily Mail Australia that the death was not being treated as suspicious.

‘Emergency services were called to Power Street just after 1pm,’ they said.

‘Police will prepare a report for the Coroner following the death of a man in Southbank on 9 November.’

Local residents and workers in the area recalled witnessing the tragic scene.

‘Sadly saw this unfold from my office in Southbank,’ wrote one person on Reddit.

The user added that the man had lingered on the balcony for ‘a couple of minutes’ before he fell. 

Another person wrote that they could ‘see it from my apartment’.
