Early reports suggest a primary school or a church is involved in the blaze. That has not been confirmed.Â
Up to 60 firefighters are battling to control the blaze in the city’s southeast which has not yet been brought under control.

The fire has caused major delays along Chapel Street with Punt Road, South Yarra between Toorak Road and Commercial Road all closed.Â
There have been reports of flames of up to 10metres.
Anyone located in a 1km radius of the fire area has been told to be conscious of embers from the fire which may be landing kilometres away.Â
Nearby residents have been told to close all exterior doors and windows as firefighters work to stop the blaze from spreading to neighbouring houses.Â
