Mel appeared on Celebrity Gogglebox on Friday night alongside her friend, Ruby Wax, for a special Stand Up 2 Cancer edition of the show, where she spoke about the moment he got down on one knee.
It was reported this week that the Leeds-born hairdresser proposed to Mel at luxury country hotel Cliveden House in Berkshire with a £100k diamond ring.
On the show, Ruby asked: “You told me you got engaged the other day, what did he actually say?”
Mel replied: ‘He said “I love you, you’re my best friend and I want to spend the rest of my life with you”, there was rose petals everywhere, a log fire, it was romantic.’

According to The Sun, Mel was ‘overwhelmed’ when Leeds-born hairdresser Rory got down on one knee, and burst out crying with tears of joy.
The publication is reporting that he then held out a £100,000 ring consisting of a pear-shaped, champagne-coloured diamond set on a rose gold band.
One insider told the outlet that Mel said ”yes” immediately, adding: ‘But it was incredibly emotional because after everything she has been through, it was a really big moment for her.’

Another source told how Mel ‘is so happy’ with the engagement, adding: ‘It has taken a huge amount for a man to get her to trust him and to believe in love again.
‘He’s the absolute opposite of so many of the guys she had relationships with,’ explaining how he has shown her that men can be ‘caring, trustworthy and reliable.
‘He has really taken the time to understand what she’s been through. He is madly in love with her.’

They also revealed that the pair have known each other for many years, with them both being from Leeds and Rory being best friends with Mel’s cousin, Christian Cooke.
The publication is reporting that Mel’s eldest daughter Phoenix, 23, was the first person she told about the engagement, with her wider friends and family said to be ‘over the moon,’ while all of the singer’s fellow Spice Girls have already met ‘and like’ her future husband.
Mel B’s representatives declined to comment when contacted by MailOnline.

The couple are thought to have been dating since 2018 when they met up through friends in LA, including celebrity make-up artist Renee Camilleri.
However, their relationship became more serious the following year when Mel returned to the UK for the Spice Girls reunion tour.
Mel shares eldest daughter Pheonix with Dutch dancer Jimmy Gulzar. Mel met Jimmy in 1998 when he was hired as a dancer for a Spice Girls world tour.
They became engaged in May 1998, she became pregnant a month later and they were married that same year in September in Little Marlow, Buckinghamshire. Their divorce was finalised in 2000.
Scary Spice is also mum to middle daughter Angel Iris Murphy Brown, 15, who she co-parents with Hollywood actor Eddie Murphy.

Whole lot of history: The pair have known each other for many years, with them both being from Leeds and Rory being best friends with Mel’s cousin, Christian Cooke
The former couple split in December 2006, with Mel going on to give birth to Angel in April 2007. On 22 June 2007, a court-ordered DNA test confirmed that Eddie Murphy was the child’s father.
Mel also shares her youngest daughter Madison Brown Belafonte, 11, with her second husband Stephen Belafonte.
The Spice Girl split from Stephen in 2017 and claimed he had emotionally and physically abused her during their 10-year marriage – something which he has always vehemently denied.
In January, Mel was awarded an MBE for her work with domestic violence charity Women’s Aid to help other people who suffered in abusive relationships.
She was named in the New Year Honours for services to charitable causes and vulnerable women, and she declared: ‘This, for me, was all about them’.
