Is Brad Pitt really this bulletproof?
One week after Angelina Jolie’s bombshell court filing providing more details about what allegedly happened on that plane in 2016, we’ve still heard nothing from the post-#MeToo social justice warriors in Hollywood. Crickets.
‘Pitt choked one of their children,’ Jolie alleged in last Tuesday’s filing, ‘and struck another in the face.’
Brad Pitt, globally beloved movie star, affable golden boy from the Midwest, has acted, to my mind, as a child abuser.
And Hollywood shrugs.
Should we be surprised?
After all, Pitt’s image barely took a hit months ago, when leaked FBI documents detailed the allegations of horrors on that plane. Among them, according to Jolie’s lawsuit: his six children, then ages eight to fifteen, too scared ‘to even go to the bathroom’ on the lengthy flight from France to L.A. because they’d ‘have to pass [Pitt] to get to the restroom.’
Those events allegedly occurred in August, the same month Pitt embarked on a worldwide press tour for his last movie. Oh, how unburdened Brad Pitt was, jumping and twirling up and down red carpets, fielding softball after softball from the world’s entertainment media.

Nope, not a care in the world for Brad Pitt, who thus far has successfully deployed two lines of defense here. One: Jolie is a vengeful ex-wife going scorched earth. Two: His relationship with his children is fine, great, better than ever.
Per this glowing report in US Weekly from August 12, 2022: ‘He thinks the world of all of his children and loves having them over at his place in L.A., where they enjoy long meals together, take walks around the estate and sometimes drive up the coast where they’ll enjoy hikes on the beach.’
The source, clearly a member of Pitt’s camp, added that unlike a certain someone, ‘Brad is very big on keeping his time with the kids extremely private. He . . . is extremely protective that way.’
As of last Wednesday, Pitt tried another tack. His team told TMZ that actually, his kids want nothing to do with him. Guess whose fault that is?
‘Angelina,’ Pitt’s sources claim, ‘has poisoned the kids against Brad to the point he has little to no relationship with any of them.’
Well, well, well. Which is it, Brad?
Here’s what allegedly happened on that plane, as reported in FBI witness documents: Pitt, drinking heavily, verbally attacked one of the children, saying ‘that kid’ — what a dismissive, hateful way to address your own child — ‘looks like a f—king Columbine kid.’
Pitt took Jolie into a bathroom and physically and verbally assaulted her, while yelling things like, ‘You’re f—king up this family’ while two of their children cried outside the bathroom door, one asking, ”Are you okay, Mommy?”
Pitt was also accused of pouring beer over Jolie, beer and wine over the children, and flinging himself backward to get Jolie off his back after he lunged for one of the kids.

‘Some of the children pleaded with Pitt to stop,’ the new filing claims. ‘They were all frightened. Many were crying.’
If you think Jolie’s lying or exaggerating, note that there were other potential witnesses on that plane – the pilots, crew and six young children. That’s a lot of people she’s counting to stick to a complex, highly detailed series of events over six years.

Last Thursday, two days after this story broke, Pitt’s lawyer issued a statement denying this latest claim: ‘Brad,’ it read in part, ‘has owned everything he’s responsible for from day one — unlike the other side — but he’s not going to own anything he didn’t do.’
Yes, the FBI closed their investigation into the incident. But that doesn’t mean nothing happened.
Jolie, according to the filings, learned that the FBI was closing their investigation ‘without advance notice.’ In fact, an investigating FBI case agent submitted a probable cause statement to the U.S. attorney’s office.
No wonder Jolie — whose humanitarian image would take an unrecoverable hit if she were found to be lying — still wants answers.
There’s also Pitt’s laissez-faire attitude. In sum and substance, Pitt’s initial response was: So what?
‘There is nothing new here,’ his people told Entertainment Weekly in August. ‘Both parties have had this information for nearly six years.’
Cancel culture has gone after others for far less. Dave Chappelle catches hell every time he releases a Netflix special. J.K. Rowling is virtually stoned in the public square whenever she dares question trans orthodoxy. Piers Morgan lost his job for doubting Meghan Markle’s veracity!
Yet Brad Pitt is Teflon.
We witnessed the same phenomenon during the Johnny Depp-Amber Heard trial last spring. Despite video evidence of Depp’s rage, his drunken outbursts and written threats (‘I will f—k her burnt corpse . . . to make sure she’s dead’) — despite a U.K. court previously ruling that Depp was not defamed when a British paper labeled him a ‘wife-beater’ — the American public and media automatically took his side.
For all the gains of #MeToo, Jolie is getting the Amber Heard treatment here. Women are still held to a higher standard than men — especially rich, handsome, powerful ones.
That said, the constant passes Pitt and Depp receive make perverse sense: The old-school Hollywood star system is dead, killed by technology. Once Pitt and Depp are gone, we’ll never see their likes again. It’s a rare breed we’re losing, one central to American culture since movies were invented.
But it’s time to let go. We have to grow up.
Let’s address another falsehood Pitt and his team keep perpetuating, one the Internet hive mind clings to: Jolie is deliberately leaking these abuse claims as ‘a media stunt . . . to inflict pain.’
Not so. As Politico reported in April, an anonymously filed Freedom of Information Act lawsuit sounded an awful lot like the Jolie-Pitt bust-up; news outlets pieced it together.
Last Tuesday’s court filing revealed that Jolie was attempting to amicably end their joint ownership in their French winery (above), until Pitt demanded she sign a non-disclosure agreement.

Jane Doe also requested that her FOIA request itself be sealed, a request the judge denied.
So let’s be clear: Angelina Jolie isn’t the crazed, hysterical woman Brad Pitt would have us believe.
And remember, Pitt’s shown us who he is before. He’s the guy who callously dumped first wife Jennifer Aniston for Jolie, implying that Aniston was too vain and ambitious — code words for bad woman, worse wife — to give him children.

So don’t expect the virtue-signalers in Tinseltown to do a thing. After all, Will Smith, months into a ten-year Academy ‘expulsion’ for slapping Chris Rock, is already angling for another Best Actor Oscar.
Why not? As we’ve seen all too often, Hollywood doesn’t care what kind of man you really are — only how well you pretend to be a good one.
